Porteous is gash. Seems to have this “he’s a talent” reputation based on being a hacking * and getting it up the huns.

I have learned from experience not to get too excited at possible signings as they are either non starters or we * about haggling over the price and they are snapped up by someone else

We need footballers, not hammer throwers.

i think we could be doing with a couple of hammer throwers ,it winds me up to see someone like morelos or naismith stamping on and kicking our players and nobody does anything about it.dont know if your man from hibs is the answer

Denmark is known to produce butchers that are good enough for top level clubs. I'm sure good scouts could find the next Helveg or Poulsen.

Both Caldwell and McManus where not great footballers but knew how to defend. Rather a player like that at the moment.

Sometimes you need that player or a few who knows what it means to play for Celtic and have that extra bit of dig.

Quality can't be overlooked though, otherwise half of us would get a game...

No it can’t but having players with that extra bit of dig and determination goes a long way who will buy into what it’s like to get stuck in and play for Celtic.

Scott Brown hasn’t done too bad from it. He is not the greatest of footballers. We need some more like that in his prime.

I agree in terms of McManus but Caldwell’s faults for me weren’t his footballing ability,it was the mental side of his game. He was ok on the ball but had moments where he thought he was far better than he was and also was prone to panicking and making really stupid decisions, that often resulted in giving away penalties or scoring own goals on occasion.
