It will be quite entertaining watching it fall apart though. Kyrie (if he decides to show up) & Harden together is the worst defensive backcourt around, plus they gave up their best defensive big in Allen.

What they had wasn’t going to be enough to win a championship, but I’m not convinced they’ve really got better as a roster or team. The fact they’ve also given up control of 7 years worth of draft picks is a huge risk too - one the Nets should know all about considering they’ve really only recently recovered from their trade with the Celtics in 2013.

They literally have to outscore everyone.

You’re right and they could all leave after the end of next season as they all have player options at the same time. So for the sake of 2 championships, if they even win any, it’s a huge sacrifice.

The Rockets and Pacers are laughing tbh.

Yeah, they’re pretty much betting on a puncher’s chance and that they can reverse the whole idea that defence wins championships. I just don’t see it working.

I hadn’t even noticed about their player options come the end of next year, which makes it an even worse move. All under the cloud of whether Kyrie will return anytime soon too.

The Cavs might have got the best deal out the lot - Jarrett Allen and Taurean Prince for Dante Exum and a late first rounder (Milwaukee’s) is daylight robbery. Sexton, Okoro and Allen could be a great base to build from.

I mean, he’s not wrong. And what he says, goes.

It’s difficult on some levels to blame Harden, but he’s certainly not without fault in Houston’s failings during his time there. It’s not like the franchise didn’t get him a second star (Paul, Westbrook) to play with, it just didn’t work and his lack of defence certainly hasn’t helped the team. Once he had his mind set on moving on though, it was best for all parties that it happened. To be fair to him; he did at least reject a huge contract extension when maybe others would have signed it, lined their pockets and then spat the dummy out.

In other news, I see Caris Levert’s physical has found a mass on his left kidney and he’s now out indefinitely. I’m surprised the Pacers signed off on the trade when they still won’t know the full extent of the injury/illness, but fingers crossed he makes a full and speedy recovery.

This Bulls team might be the most exciting to watch in the entire league.

    Every game is * quality.

Was going to say this is the perfect way to play Giannis. Bully him a bit, because he’s too much of a nice guy, he’s like a man child.

Then looked at the stats and he’s went

(34-12-7-2)... never mind. Nets did win though.

I wonder is Brooklyn will trade Kyrie. Harden and Durant’s chemistry is off the charts.

From the Nets’ perspective, if they could get some defence and depth back then it would be a no brainer in my opinion. As you suggested, he’s effectively a third wheel to KD and Harden’s chemistry now.

Which franchise is going to realistically give up much value for Irving at the moment though? He’s contracted to $34m a year for the next two and a half years, has caused issues everywhere he has been and isn’t even guaranteed to turn up for work.

    I actually respect Kyrie.

It’s very easy to sit and assume someone is ripping the pish.

I have a lot of respect for him and his political and equality stances, plus he’s obviously hugely talented. I just don’t think basketball is necessarily his number one priority at the moment and therefore I think it’s a big risk for a team to offer a great package for him to entice the Nets to trade.

For the first time in LeBron James’ career, his team have a positive net rating when he sits (+1.7, compared to +12.1 when he’s on court).

The Lakers’ depth is unreal and they’ve not even got close to top gear yet. Their biggest issue in the regular season is concentration.
