If we had any balls we would throw everything at Eddie Howe and let him restructure the club any way he pleased.

We dont have balls we have * in charge so it'll be another Ronny D who's miles off it or Roy Keane.

Yes - Keane confirmed that he was approached in 2014 but said he didn't feel the club valued him enough and also that he was told who his assistant would be - no negotiation.

I don't want him as a manager - I hope that his comments to the press about this previous approach would put off DD from doing it again.

So would I. Think my sarcasm was lost haha. Whenever a promising manager from abroad gets mentioned there's a few on here who like to call us hipsters.

He's the exact sort of manager we should consider.

Aye that's what I thought as well about him showing too much loyalty to Bournemouth, because with clubs like that, after finishing in the top half of the league, the only way to go after that is downwards. Agree regarding the comparison with Rodgers and Swansea, and as you say Rodgers chose the right time to leave, loyalty as we know isn't something that would be a concern for him.

    100%

Folk used to always shout "who would you replace Lennon with" for months - less so now everyone knows he needs to * off last month - but it isn't for me and you to have to scout and research half decent managers. But low and behold, as soon as we do, we can all come up with actual decent names who will see Celtic as a step UP and a good platform. We need to be recruiting so much better than we have in the last 15 years. But with this board, we simply won't.

It'll be Ross, Keane (doubt he will), Michael Oneil etc.
Not saying some are terrible (or good) but it is the lazy options, the simple approach. Find someone with some sort of link to the club/country and make it the easy signing.

The thing that scares me about Keane more than his underwhelming if not disappointing CV as a manager, is just how archaic his views on the game are. Talking about how players need to “run about more” and how he would want “fists flying in the dressing room”. It’s quite possible the current dressing room would be even more dysfunctional under him. Then again, I’d want nothing better than for him to prove me wrong IF DD approached him for the job.

My first choice would be Martinez, then Howe.

Aye. Cause Roberto would really fancy giving up working with de Bruyne, Hazard, Lukaku etc to work with our crop. Jesus Christ.

I agree with you.. it seems plainly obvious a large amount of the players have not reacted to Lennon's method of management. If Keane came in we may see decent improvements initially but eventually something would blow up. Maybe he's learned to be a bit more modern working as an assistant under O'Neill or maybe not

Wouldn’t want him anyway ffs. Guy absolutely won the lottery getting that Belgium gig. Save for that FA cup win he’s had a poor time managing club sides. That Everton side he had could’ve broken into the top 4 under other managers. I’d much rather a manager who has won league of comparable size and dynamic to ours and who has exceeded expectations on the continent. Rebrov, Petrescu, Preud’Homme, Rui Vitoria. Guys with domestic silverware of note in the bank.

Thing is a lot of managers who are managers of a country don’t really get to work with the players that often and miss that side of the game

Despite his lack of experience and the jokes/memes etc, he could easily be an improvement over Lenny. A few things he could offer that Lenny doesn't seem to have:

    1. He would instantly have the respect of the dressing room
    2. Experience of modern footballer culture and working alongside top young footballers
    3. Champions League experience at the top level
    4. Contacts throughout European football
    5. Great knowledge of goal scoring and unlocking defences
    6. Can drink a full pint
