I couldn't tell you a centre half in the academy outwith Welsh...and he's 21 next week..

 

He should be in MF & does a job to the best of his ability in defence when called upon, he was actually one of our best players until that moment

How many players who have played CM until the age of 25 can make a sudden & seamless transition into CB? Not many I'd argue & too many don't think about that when criticising him for performances in a position that isn't his natural one

 

I just don't think he's been given enough opportunities to show that he's better than "ok" but, I will tell you what, I would rather have him in the team before big Duffy any day. I remember the stick big Ajer used to get and look how * he's turned out to be.

 

I’m not arguing otherwise, I am saying though that this is a young boy that has hardly played. Our team has been a shambles this season and it’s a tad unfair pinning hopes on him to solve our defensive problems.

 

Naw I am not arguing m8. I am just fed up with some guys not being given a chance as they just might help the team. The same applied to Turnbull and Soro. The two of them weren't deemed good enough yet ,once they were given the chance, they changed the dynamics of the team.

 

I agree but there’s a difference from Turnbull and Soro as both have played football at a high level, young Welsh apart from his few appearances for us has been at Morton. I get we need to start trying our youngsters, my fear is if things go wrong and he gets abuse just as his peers have had.

 

Well at least they made it back from Dubai incident free. Might be a turning point

 

I know where you are coming from however, I would be more willing to give him some leeway if he did happen to make a few errors in a game as, those around him with far more experience, have had some howlers. Anyway, maybe he will get his chance on Monday and we can continue our discussion.

 

All these turning points are making me dizzy. There's only so many we can take before we end up back at the beginning

 

Walsh is almost 21, not a kid, and its Hibs FFS, so lets see what he is made of.
Not really let us down in the past.
Bitton, Duffy and CJ all out, its now or never for him.

 

Nisbet, Doidge & Boyle can be a handful on their day, they also gave the huns a decent game at Ibrox & were unlucky not to get at least a point, can't be underestimated regardless of their last two results. Elhamed is the best CB option of those currently available imo.

 

Just reading an unnamed player in our squad tested positive,rest of squad fine.Better not be a CB.
