Or how about the corona virus vaccine that's been in testing for many many years and it's only the protein source that's changed therefore it's technically had plenty of testing?

There are many problems with that, but the biggest is that sometimes it's you who's the idiot and there's no real way of knowing in advance if that's so.

This is not a long-term situation where you could argue that supply will rise to meet demand in the medium term. It's a global public health emergency where supply is already being ramped up as fast as possible. This means that in the short term (and remember, months mean thousands of deaths), wherever you source the vaccine it will be taking it away from people who need it more.

We have no moral right to do this, it would be a PR disaster and it would be a betrayal of our founding purpose.

If the government chooses to introduce such a thing, so be it. Let the moral implications of such a decision be on their head.

I have heard that argument a few times, and perhaps there is kernel of truth in it, but I am fed up seeing these people portrayed as victims. They are, by and large, bigots. How they became bigots is no doubt fascinating, but that is what most of them are. How about we apportion some of the blame to them?

    Well.....

Edit: as @TheDublinCelt says, this could derail the thread, so I've edited out my response.

Thailand.. and apart from no tourists there is no change in lifestyle, no lockdowns, they want smaller parties at New Year but life is normal.

And if you get Covid then stay at home for 2 weeks!

No hospital, no intensive care, no kicking your family members out.. seems an odd course of action when there is so much alarm over infection.

Like i said, i was only half serious.. the board keep banging on about how much they miss the fans so if they wanted supporters back in then take positive action.. or stop making lack of fans an excuse for season of poor results, boring play and using Covid as an excuse for not having protests.

Sounds like a better reaction there than here in my opinion, but I'll leave that argument for the folk in the covid thread.

It would be difficult to respond to such a discursive post without derailing the thread, so I think that we should just leave it at that.

There will very likely be a private market for the vaccine in the new year, rightly or wrongly. All dependent on the progress of the vaccine rollout and the extent to which it is extended to the private sector.

Organisations (such as workplaces) give out vaccines all the time, usually administered by private healthcare organisation like BUPA and BMI. My work pays for the pleasure of circa 80,000 employees having a flu jab every year, for example.

It’s not really a batshit crazy proposition to give an option if there is going to be a tangible benefit I.e. getting supporters in the stadium if it helps us win the league.

Maybe I’m thinking too laterally :54:

RNA has never been used before in humans though so not plenty of testing plus and after receiving the injection it is UNKOWN if it will stop you catching and passing on the virus so you must still maintain all the current guidelines making the original poster point useless in terms if filling a stadium and your point useless as there's clearly no evidence/results about the catching and passing the virus post injection

Doesnt matter if you catch a virus that does nothing to you. Hence the vaccine. Cases wont matter if everycunt ponys up there * to get jagged.
