If Lennon gets the boot, we will need someone to give those pampered plonkers we have playing for us a good kick up the posterior. Roy Keane would certainly do that. Ten in a row would be back on the moment the announcement would be made. Keane would make sure of it. A short term appointment. Twould be worth it.

It feels like Deja vu in here, how many last chances does Lennon get?

I understood not sacking him after Ferancvaros, and I even maybe understood not sacking him after the huns game, but there was no excuse for him to survive the first prague game, even worse he survived the hibs game, and somehow he's still here after losing 4-1 to prague again?

He's actively damaging our club by staying, I honestly think the 10 is a pipe dream now, but the very least he could hold his hands up, admit he's not the man for the job and leave, i'd respect him a lot more if he did. Instead, he's deluding himself with ridiculous comments like "We played much better in this game (4-1 defeat away to Prague) than we did in the last against them (4-1 defeat at Celtic park)" and it's clear the board are spineless * who won't do anything to sort this.

We'll most likely go on a run domestically now, our remaining fixtures until the hun game are ridiculously easy and we should win them all, but I fully expect the huns to win all of thier fixtures too, and they'll be clear favorites going into the game at Ibrox, it's depressing.

Its awful depressing. I agree. If we don't win on Sunday Lennon's gone.End of story. We seriously need to wake up. I'm in Ireland and my daughters watch the games with me.One of ems only 7 and she says why don't Celtic win anymore???.She seriously said that to me..

    For me it's already ruined.
Will still go down a club legend, but his reputation is shot.

If you think NL "lost the dressing room" wait till the Board appoint an enforcer who is, in reality, powerless.
Those PPS do not give a xxxx about Celtic or the fans. They are narcissists.

Mourinho found that out quickly at Chelsea when Costa, Fabregas and co decided they didnt like him any more.

What really * me off is the fact that these * earn about 6 or 7 times the annual salary of an NHS brain surgeon, * joke. * them

This just plays into Lennon + the board's hands - even on our current form, we should beat Ross County + St Johnstone (if we lose to Milan, they'll just say it doesn't matter). So after beating the mighty Ross County + St Johnstone (if wed do), they'll say we've "turned a corner" and Lenny is "bringing the thunder back"

It would take an absolute miracle for a team that has played * almost every game this season to “click” and then go on a title winning run.

This is a team with no drive, no vision, no direction and no passion playing under a manager with no tactical nous and no coaching skills. It’s as car crash as it is Mickey Mouse and unfortunately the only way to begin the transformation to something more acceptable is to thank Neil Lennon and part company.

Cracks can and have been papered over with wins against much lesser opposition and that’s ignoring the ugly and disjointed performances. We have failed to turn up and have been handed our arses on a plate by every decent side we’ve played this season and there is absolutely no chance that things will suddenly and miraculously change.

A few weeks ago we were pishing ourselves laughing at the huns and their * kit falling apart at the seams. We are now falling apart at the seams and they are the ones pishing themselves at us. Loving Lenny and “getting behind him” won’t transform him into something he’s not and for the good of the club his time should be called.

You would honestly allow him to continue after getting beat 8-2 on aggregate against a team who are second in the czech league?

How people seem capable of ignoring this disastrous European campaign just cause we have an easy run of domestic fixtures is mind boggling.

    Total blind faith.

Nah we're pish - the teams who've beat us this season have been decent, just well organised and properly coached.

Embarrassing how weak we've been in every defeat.

NEIL LENNON says that he held a Zoom call with Celtic majority shareholder Dermot Desmond and chief executive Peter Lawwell yesterday as they search for a solution to the club’s current slump in form, but he is convinced that he has the backing of the board.

Lennon has come under huge pressure as Celtic have fallen 11 points behind Rangers at the top of the Premiership, while a second successive 4-1 defeat to Sparta Prague on Thursday night saw them crash out of the Europa League.

Lennon contends though that the call with Desmond and Lawwell was routine despite another embarrassing reverse, with all three men still believing in ‘the process’ of what he is trying to achieve at the club.

"It was a normal call that we have,” Lennon said. “It was no big deal.

"We are going through a bad patch and we are looking for solutions to it.

"I speak to Dermot twice a week and I speak to Peter every day. We had another one on Friday morning.

"It wasn't a special army council meeting or a COBRA meeting. It was about, 'Where can we improve things on and off the field for the players?'

"It always is that way with Dermot. He's honest with me and I am with him. It's the same with Peter.

"We aren't smoothing over any cracks here. We aren't saying everything is fine, it's obviously not. We are honest enough with each other to debate that.

"They are trying to help me and I am trying to help the players. It wasn't like a huge ordeal for me.

"We are very strong and durable. I believe in the process but the players are struggling with some belief and confidence.

"They played pretty well for large parts of the game in Prague. The scoreline flattered [Sparta Prague].

"But that's how it goes for you when you are going through a sticky patch.

"That's what it is - this isn't terminal by any means.

"Europe is over now. We need to look at the domestic games.”

MARTIN O’NEILL’S public backing of his friend and former player Neil Lennon may well be a source of succour for the current Celtic manager during this difficult time in his career, but it is a lesson from O’Neill’s past that is providing Lennon with the greatest source of inspiration.

Lennon is long enough in the tooth to know that if results don’t pick up soon for Celtic, then his status as a club legend won’t protect him from the boot. He also knows though from both his own, and - pertinently – from O’Neill’s experience, that even the bleakest situations can be turned around.

“Martin O’Neill has been a massive influence on my career and in my life,” Lennon said. “I remember early in his time at Leicester. We lost at home to Sheffield United and the Leicester fans spilled on to the pitch at Filbert Street.

“They were demanding a change of manager. Martin had to go through that but he remained strong. We went unbeaten for nine or 10 games, we ended up getting promoted and he became one of the best managers in the Premier League for the next five or so years.

“He went through it in various stages of his managerial career. It’s not easy but you have to stay strong. I take a lot of inspiration from that.

“Martin knows me, as a person, a player and a manager. He believes in me. He believed in me when I played for him and he knows exactly what I am going through.

“He wouldn’t say anything publicly he doesn’t mean. While it was brilliant to have his support, it’s also great to talk to him privately about things as well.”

The tumult during Lennon’s career which has spilled over at times into his own personal life is well documented, travails that have helped him maintain a sense of perspective during this testing time of his second Celtic tenure.

"Every player or manager goes through a sticky patch in their career,” he said. "I have had a lot worse than this, to varying degrees.

"I need to keep a calm head and a sense of perspective.

"I spoke to the players after the game in Prague and opened it up to them. We are all together and very much unified. We aren't happy with the way things are and we are disappointed for the fans. The players are feeling it and they want to put it right.

“I went through a really difficult time in my second season at Bolton. That was more down to financial reasons as the club went in to administration.

“It was about trying to keep any sort of team together while they were selling off parts of the stadium and chunks of the car park and training ground. That was a really difficult period.

“There have been times here as a player when there’s been bad periods, and there were times even at Crewe in my younger days.

“I was maybe 19 or 20 and went through a lack of form and loss of confidence. It took some words from different people and things picked up again. I never looked back after that.

“This is a difficult situation for a club of this standing and in terms of the standards we set over the years.

“But it’s nothing we can’t turn around.”

Lennon says he is leaving no stone unturned as he tries to address the psychological problems he feel are affecting his men during this period, from having a psychologist come in to speak to them to having a lounge built at Lennoxtown to combat the fragmented environment at the training ground caused by Coronavirus restrictions.

“I think it’s confidence more than anything,” he said. “Life at the training ground and our pre-match routines are different, because we live in abnormal times.

“It can be difficult, especially for the new boys. They were very excited about coming to the club but the squad is split in different dressing rooms and the only time they see each other is on the training ground.

“Some are then going home to an empty house. They would have been thinking they would have been able to socialise, eat the restaurants, meeting their mates in cafes.

“It’s not been possible. I’m not saying that’s the only reason we are on a bad run.

“Eight of the team that played in Rome [in the win over Lazio] played [on Thursday] night. They have done fantastically well but they are lacking a bit of belief at the minute and a little bit of confidence. “I’m sure that will come back. They need to play their way through that.”

With the greatest of respect to Ross County, they would seem to have a golden opportunity to do just that tomorrow at Celtic Park as they face the struggling Staggies in the Betfred Cup round of 16.

A favourable fixture list up until the New Year follows, and Lennon says it is crucial to get off on a solid first footing.

“I’m looking forward to it as we’re starting our defence of the League Cup,” he said.

“It would be good to win the game and win it well and take it from there. We’ve got a big month coming up.

“We’ll look at setting the team targets for the month and give them an incentive to push for.

“They are definitely together. It’s all right me saying that and I know it’s words.

“But they are definitely close, I think they are together. The way they spoke after the game, they mean it.

“They are all hurting at the minute and are all determined [to come through it]. I know they are strong enough to change things and change things quickly.”

If the players are so together and close, why all the chat about separate dressing rooms and empty houses? Surely if they are together and close then any personal hardships are not affecting team morale, therefore the lounge stuff is one absolute pile of bollocks?

Buckle in, looks like Lennon's getting his chance. Win every game until the new year (possible considering weve now got an easier run) we could potentially be top when we pump the huns.

Doesn’t work like that players just ask for next move these days especially at a top club where they know they will get a move easily
