DJ and Bryson are in a league of their own now I reckon. When either is on top form they’re untouchable. Some performance.

    Well deserved win from Johnson.

He’s always one of the players on my shortlist to win.

Rickie Fowler is another I always back, always seems to be up there but wasn’t close this time around.

Spieth has really fallen as well in recent times.

    DJ is an amazing golfer.

I actually can't stand DeChambeau. Credit to him for his play, adding 40 yards to your drive in one season is phenomenal, and almost unbelievable, and he can putt too. But his slow play and wacky * does my nut in.

    I much prefer DJ's approach

Bryson has that effect on people.. love him or hate him. I’m a big fan of him myself though granted the slow play certainly is annoying.

I actually backed him at about 200/1 in his first attempt at the masters because a cousin of mine had read about his scientific approach to the game. Didn’t watch much golf at all last year and then spat my tea out the next time I saw him on the telly looking like The Rock. It’s a fascinating story and I really admire how he has found a way to separate himself from the pack. A real winner’s mentality. I just laugh at the likes of Andrew Coltart who never misses a chance to get a dig in on him.

A lot of people see him as some sort of cheat because of his big booming style and I just find that bizarre. If it was that easy everyone would do it. Its a very entertaining style to watch when he gets it all to click.

Yeah what he does has to be admired and fair play to him, I can respect that.

Must admit, I found the punditry a bit poor at times regarding Bryson. You could hear the disdain some have for him. Before a ball was even hit, they were petrified of him winning it. Talking about how "something would need to be done" be it the course, or technology, if he won.

I do think golf needs mavericks, simple things like a Hatton wearing a hoody or Van Rooyen's trousers definitely help.
