Let’s be honest, the two former Brighton CB’s that are playing across the river are looking like Maldini and Baresi in the league just now.

Duffy is/was better than both of them and he was first choice ahead of them at Brighton.

Moreover, those two are just as slow as Duffy. So you wonder how they are getting away with it? Pressing as a unit is probably one of the reasons.

I think he’ll be fine but everything is under the microscope with him. For example, Bitton lost Gallagher several times at set pieces yesterday (including the goal) yet there is no outcry there...

    Bit of balance..

    Let’s see.

Should have offered Simunovic a deal, would be a better option for us, too late now.

Disappointed as I am with Duffys performance to date, I kinda know he isn't a complete dud. He has in the past, put in some excellent shifts for both Brighton and ROI, I think Lenon realises now that he wasn't as fit as he should be to adopt to the pacier game in Scotland, and hopefully with a bit of careful management will get him up to scratch, Im confidently in the "dont write him off yet camp" !

I certainly hope your right because we badly need the good commanding Duffy not the dithering one we have largely seen so far.

I'm starting to think 'square peg... round hole'.

From what I understand, Duffy has pretty much played all his days for teams who sit-in for large portions of games. So I suppose it shouldn't come as a surprise that he's struggled to adapt to a team who mostly play on the front-foot.

... but then I also understand that he's played a lot of football recently, so he's maybe just knackered!?

    Shane Duffy isn't coming good.

Not suited to us at all. Just take the loss, punt back to Brighton and go out and get someone new in

When we get down the line he'll still be turning round at the centre circle

The guy is struggling to adapt to a new, dysfunctional squad. He doesnt know his teammates or which ( if any ) he can actually rely on.

He lost his father ( aged 53) in May and his grandmother just before.

He has had a mixed start but let's all put the boot in, with smart jokes and digs.

Bitton must have caught Covid 2013, always lazy and languid. FIFA stats : "workrate - low to moderate

He has never given 100% ( well not for Celtic anyway )

I'm a big fan of Bitton these days especially at centre half. I'd personally be playing him ahead of duffy atm. Duffy needs a good boot up the *. But even a boot up the * doesnt seem like it will help after seeing some of the defending hes been producing.

Serious schoolboy stuff, slow as a week in the jail.

At times our defence is spread like a hooker legs.PLayers up for corners and free kicks in a team that leaks goals for fun.
Many times the other team has the ball rushing our box and a defender of ours is just crossing the halfway line. It's insane,we then end up with players like brown at 35 trying to plug some holes. And i not just talking about duffy, there was one attack where the ball was over the halfway line and laxalt was still in the other teams box.
We have to let our defence defend and stop asking so much of them.

For me, when everyone is fit, our order of CBS should be

    Ajer
    Jullien
    Elhamed
    Bitton
    Welsh
    Duffy

Lennon clearly sees him ahead of welsh tho, and I think we're gonna be using Elhamed a lot more at RB. Thing is, I just dont see Duffy ever fitting in for us. He'll eventually get rid of the stupid mistakes he's currently making as the season goes on, but considering the wages we're paying him that's nowhere near enough.

If it's possible, we really do need to cut his loan short in January. Keeping him until the end of the season would be a disaster for us and for Duffy.
