I’m not particularly confident at the moment either. That’s why I think it’s a best case scenario for us.

A massive 3 points for Neil. I still believe he is the man to take us forward.

I completely understand the need for Lenny to be positive after a result like that but he isn’t talking about the same game I just watched. He is right it could have been more goals for us but omitted the fact that Motherwell could have had a couple themselves.

I’m going to stop now because I’m boring myself with my negativity :giggle1:

It’ll make a change from us going backwards with him in charge this season. Most managers would never get the chances he’s had this season.

He must be on the bevvy, he's just described Shane Duffy as "a cracking player"

Duffy has been playing badly but I would be cautious on writing him off until we have decent coaching. It seems to be a pattern every defender seems to get worse with time in this team and even Ajer and Jullien were kind of regressing and having bad patches. Everything points to the issue not being the players here.

    Then you are completely deluded.
No offence meant, but no one can have faith in this man taking the club forward. Not after the past few months and not after all that's coming out (even by his own admission) of how poor he is at fitness and learning from previous games.

Two posts in, it's fairly clear what this one's all about.

Since the end of last year's Europa League group stage (which I still maintain it was down to Forster, as without him we were knocked out by * Cluj Napoca, but you will say this is "not accepting Lennon's success), we played 8 games against teams we weren't huge favourites to beat. All of those, bar Milan and maybe Lille, we were still favourites but not by the huge, gigantic margin we are against pish like Motherwell, whose most expensive player ever is a guy currently sitting on our bench.

Lennon has failed to win a single of those games. 6 defeats and 2 draws against FC Copenhagen (a team that lost the league to a side that has Sviatchenko as a key player) and Lille.

I don't think it is harsh on Lennon and any other manager in the same situation (winning only against vastly inferior domestic opposition and losing every game outside of that) in another club would be sacked. See PSG or Red Bull Salzburg for examples.
The guy we got in this situation and ended up with the shower guy as a coach is precisely by accepting this a success despite having budgets, attendances and fanbases more comparable to Ajax or Porto.

His pre match comments are again a bit worrying.

Need to take it one game at a time and doesnt seem like hes realising that.

    Havent forgotten Thursday yet Lenny.

I get your point but he's been down and out before and turned it around. He's a Celtic man and he feels the same, if not worse, than we do.

Today was big for him. We comfortably won a tough away game playing average. Let's get behind him and push on

Yeah, fair play to him today getting the team back together today for a big win against a team unbeaten in 6. Very comfortable in first half; a bit pedestrian for about 20 minutes in second half but then spark into action and up the gears for something that can be considered very comfortable in the end.

Every single action and every single word will be criticised with a fine tooth comb. In fact, he won’t be able to do right for doing wrong to be honest. And that is coming from someone who is hardly an avid fan of him.

Hopefully win at Hibs in a few weeks time and then we know what we need to do for the rest of the domestic season. From after Hibs until March, it is a relatively straight forward run for us, on paper, bar Ipox and Kilmarnock away.

He better find an antidote for the insipid performances against that mob by the time January comes around.

My view is the board have hung him out to dry by giving him the job again. A top professional coach like Rodgers wouldn't have stuck it, hence why he bailed despite winning something like 97% of his games.
Yes he (NL) started the league title run but also lost us the first one as we inconceivably crumbled at Inverness. His legend status will be ruined if/when we fail this season which is a travesty.

The win today proved one thing ,he changed absolutely * all the stubbornness continues,we played exactly the same way aimlessly knocking it about relying on individuals to come up with something instead of having a gameplan.
We could of beat Motherwell today with no manager,he's already failed the big tests this season now get him to *!
