Yeah big split in the camp apparently and has been since last year. So my mate tells me and he knows a few on the panel.. could be * but as I said hes fairly well informed.

An open draw would of been brilliant and given the circumstances a great excuse to experiment.. Leinster and Munster are practically pointless competitions. Probably to risky for the suits if Dublin and Kerry meet early or both went out early.. all about the money.. shame really.

Because of the provincial set up Dublin will at least make the semi finals. Dublin, Kerry, Mayo and whomever in the semis. Youd still fancy Dublin unfortunately. Straight knockout open draw were Dublin/Kerry/Mayo might get drawn away would of been exciting.. opportunity missed

Amazing how Kerry, Mayo and everyone else bottled it 5 years in a row. That is a heck of a lot of bottling it. Or maybe it is just that Dublin are that good. Even when in trouble Dublin know how to stay calm and come out on top in the end. They have done it again and again. Truly great teams which Dublin are show why they are great when it matters most and Dublin have done it so often.

I’m not denying how good Dublin are - the best ever, in fact. I’m merely saying Kerry bottled it last year against 14 men.

Before that, Mayo’s remarkable two own goals cost them the win in 2016.

and like I said a remarkable amount of bottling by teams over a long 5 years or maybe that is why this Dublin team is so good because when it matters most they do not panic they stay focused and calm and find a way like all truly great teams do. This Dublin team have managed to do just that when it is tight and could go either way again and again. Only a truly great team can consistently keep finding a way to win when they find themselves in tight spots and Dublin have done just that. I do feel some sympathy for Mayo given they could never get past Dublin no matter how often they came so close. In any other era they would have won an All Ireland or 2 but they were unfortunate that this Dublin team is probably the greatest GAA football team of all time.

We gave Laois a bit of pay back for last seasons All Ireland Quarter-Final as well on Sunday in the hurling. Have to say though I am of the opinion that we should not be having an All Ireland Championship this year. I hope it can go off without a hitch but I just do not see it. These guys are not pros who can be kept in a bubble.

Monaghan Cavan on Sky now. Looking like a good game. As my grandfather is from Cavan I'll support them in this one.

Complete change in the game after the water break. Shame the biggest game of the provincial championships is shoehorned in at 1.30.

Declan Bonner has turned them into some unit, taking certain aspects from Jim McGuinness’ time and fusing it with good, intricate, attacking football.

Ended up as quite the game with that second half fight back from Dublin unfortunately coming up 1 point short after being 15 points down.

Dublin missed their opportunity to mount a serious challenge for Liam, that group of players under Anthony Daly should’ve achieved much more.
