Not so sure on this occasion. Forster did save with his feat regularly but the one Bain kicked looked awkward and was easier to save with his hands. Even big Sutton said that at the time.

Hopefully Barkas is fit enough to start soon, I.e. Sunday.

Done okay bar the fumble but think the one he punched he could have caught but fair play for saving the penalty

Should keep his place after tonight. No real problem with Barkas but he needs to earn his place not be guaranteed it.

Cheers for the penalty save, but he’s really *.

Far too wee and fumbles a lot.

NEIL LENNON says Scott Bain is now pushing to be his Celtic No1 after his Euro heroics in France.

Celts lost a two-goal lead against Lille to draw 2-2.

But Bain - in the team with £5million Greek keeper Vasilis Barkas still recovering from injury - was outstanding.

He saved a first half penalty and was blameless at the goals.

Asked if he’s now got a claim for the jersey, Lennon said: “Absolutely, yeah.

“Scott was always in and around it anyway. He’s trained well and the time between coming back in June. I think there has been a real sea change in his attitude to his work.

He’s in the gym very early in the morning and he’s reaping the benefits of that.

"We put a lot of trust in him and faith as we do in Barkas as well, but Scott has done his chances no harm with another big performance.

When you go away in Europe, you need your goalkeeper to play well and he stood up. He can be pleased with himself as we are.”

Thought Barkas should be worried and then immediately he dropped that clanger where they hit the cross bar.

Hopefully Barkas is back for Sunday but can see Bain being one of Lennys pals and being No.1 for a while now.

Right now he’s our number one. He made one big mistake tonight, granted.

but he stood up in moments he could easily get away with it not being his fault.

He has the right attitude for a Celtic number one, he has the ability... 90% of the time. It’s up to him to prove it more consistently

Some lol comments here. Without exaggeration, it would be a fair assessment to say he probably made more saves tonight than Barkas has since he’s been here. Someone has the stats I’m sure.

If Forster has that game tonight folk are positive...

It’s important for folk to be balanced in their assessments..

What’s with the desperation for Barkas to be back at the weekend?

Have seen absolutely nothing from him to suggest he would’ve done better than Bain tonight, but enough to suggest he might not have done quite as well.

I've thought long and hard about our GK situation, and i've come to the conclusion that both Bain and Barkas are *. :42:

    50 shades of Bain.
    Some moments of brilliance.
Some fumbles on the easy saves.

Five million spunked on Barkas. Probably could have picked up Boruc for peanuts and had a far better keeper.

Fair enough. Just not a very good sign when his place is under threat already from a goalkeeper we know to be not very good.

Think that’s a bit disingenuous to both keepers there to be honest. Think Bain has shown to be more that “not very good” for us. Also, writing Barkas off this early and saying he is a waste of money is over the top too.

Think there has probably been a lack of balance on the forum for the last while. Pressure of this 10IAR perhaps?
