We're only likely to get 10-15 million for him if he has 1 year left, accepting a release clause of around 25 million would still be good for us

Aye, my hope that a sneaky extension had been agreed is long gone now.
The club would have pulled that one out by now for the feel good.

Can't believe the board have/are allowing this to go to the last year of his deal though, as you say, we will be lucky to get £15mill for him now. Not a great return on the investment, more so when CL money hasnt been achieved either.

This is what concerns me. Firstly a persons health is the number 1 no matter how much we want and need him on the field. That comes first. Beyond that my concern is that even with elite athletes this virus can be a major issue as it affects lungs and the heart. So while to the average person this may not effect them to any great extent to an athlete at the elite level of professional sports this can be a major problem if even a fraction of their lung and heart capacity are negatively affected. I think we may be in major trouble here with Edouard as recovery times it seems from the virus can take months for some and then there is the issue is there any long term damage. I hope of course that the tests come back giving Edouard a 100% clean bill of health and he is good to go on the field at 100% for us. But until that happens I am really concerned for him as well of course as El Hemed and Biton.

Celtic's Odsonne Edouard will miss Thursday evening's Europa League opener with AC Milan.

The French striker missed last weekend's Rangers derby at Parkhead after testing positive for Covid-19 on international duty. He raced back to Glasgow in a bid to potentially make the game but, after assessments, was forced to sit out.

Now the player is expected to go through more protocols and testing ahead of this weekend's Aberdeen game at Pittodrie - meaning the Milan fixture will come too soon for the player.

Read that he was getting heart tests as a precaution. Any chance Ntcham could get one as well....

Neil Lennon admits star man Odsonne Edouard will NOT be available to face Aberdeen at the weekend but offered hope of a Lille return.

The Celtic star was diagnosed with coronavirus while with the France Under-21 team and only returned to Glasgow on Friday after quarantining.

Edouard didn't make the squad for the defeats to Rangers and Milan, and his manager doesn't expect him to return for Sunday's game.

Lennon admitted on BT Sport: "I doubt he would be available for the weekend.

We just have to wait and see, he hasn't done a lot just a little bit of cardio and some jogging around to check everything's ok.

He said: "Hopefully we'll have Edouard back, maybe not for the weekend but for Lille.

We’re not being given the full story with Eddy just now. Covid or not.

Even the explanations about cardiac and physiological examinations seemed exaggerated and made up to me.

Big Zlatan was thrown right back in at almost 40 after a bout of it, understand everyone reacts differently but if he’s on the training field and running it can’t be that bad.

Can he ask to be left out every week until January?

Be weeks until he’s deemed fit enough to start now then. Hope the big fellas doing ok though that’s the main thing.

How did it go from getting assessed last Friday for last Saturdays game to missing a game over a week later and potentially two weeks if missing Lille isn’t being ruled out either.

What is your take on what the full story is then if you think what's being said isn't accurate?

What's the connection between Zlatan and Eddie in your comment? Not quite getting that.
