If he passes a fitness test then hes certified fit for the game and virus has nothing to do with it.

He will score his usual silky hatrick, cause hun infighting. * McGregor will be kicking out looking for his red and beaton will be to scared to give him it. Punchhisfacemorelos will miss atleast 1 open goal from a yard out. Glorious day incoming

I hope he is alright. Any news of his condition?

I thought that he would be on the bench today if he was anywhere near able to play a bit.

There was always an assumption that he was entirely asymptomatic but that might not necessarily be the case.

Even slight symptoms would likely rule you out entirely on conditioning grounds, even if you could technically play despite the Covid restrictions.

Seeing that reported too. That is a big worry. Sounds like he has had symptoms and still has a bit to recover.

Hope it is all just precautionary.

Big question is which Edouard returns?
Transfer window closed, so does he come back distraction free and rip it up or does he sulk, cry off and contrbute zero to the cause?
No guarantees either way as I see it.....

Not sure why he would sulk when there was no bids rejected.

He’s not been at his best but has still contributed 6 goals in 10 games. He’ll come back and score plenty more.

Fact is, he has been * poor for a while. Hope he has got it out of his system because we need him firing. Will only really know when he returns....

He’s been poor but there’s no doubt in my mind he’ll come back, score and assist plenty and be our talisman.

I have no reason to question his commitment. Him and his agent have been quoted recently saying he’s happy here and 10 is important to him, so I’ll take them at their word.

He also fired back at people saying his head wasn’t in it earlier in the season via social media, not sure he’d do that if he didn’t care.

The way he has spoke before about his ambition to play at the top level (much like Dembele before him) I believe him and his agent know he can’t afford to down tools for months at a time if he wants a big move.

Eddy is a talent just hope he gets better soon and gets back to playing at his best.

Definitely. He would gain nothing from sulking.

If he wasn’t happy here and wanted to go then he wouldn’t be here.

I'm not as forgiving as a lot of people. He has been absolutely * recently, and if it's to be with him wanting away, then that's not good enough. You give your all to the club paying your wage, and this is Celtic we are talking about.

Get your finger out your *, we have made you what you are. Perform for us or * off.

Celtic only received one official bid for Odsonne Edouard during the summer transfer window - according to a report.

And the offer was way below the Hoops' lofty valuation of their talisman.

The Athletics David Ornstein say the bid came from a German Bundesliga club but Celtic were not prepared to do a deal.

And while there was no details of exactly how much was on the table, Celtic immediately rejected it and only had tentative enquiries from other clubs.

One of those teams wasn't Arsenal though, despite their interest in the 22-year-old.

The Gunners do like Edouard but didn't make a move in the summer window with them well-stocked in an attacking sense, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah all available as centre forwards while the likes of Willian, Nicolas Pepe and Bakary Saka are all emergency options.

The report states that a ‘host’ of European clubs also made enquiries while in England, the main interest was from Aston Villa and Crystal Palace.

Edouard missed Saturday's defeat to Rangers after testing positive for Covid-19 while on international duty with France U21s.

He only returned to Scotland on Friday and Neil Lennon admitted he was never going to play on Saturday, while hinting he's also likely to sit out of the game against AC Milan on Thursday night.

He said: “Odsonne’s had cardiac and blood tests and we’ll see how he is. He’s not trained for nearly two weeks and only got back yesterday.

“We can’t take a chance on anyone’s health and he wasn’t ready anyway. We knew he had no chance but couldn’t say it publicly.

“I doubt he’ll be okay for Thursday. It’s not like we can just bring him back in for training. He has to be assessed to see how much the virus has taken out of him."

Hopefully, when he is back, he starts showing it on the pitch cause he has been really poor.

    :fear:

Celtic are convinced Odsonne Edouard will remain at the club until next summer regardless of whether he commits to the new deal being discussed.

As revealed by Football Insider last month, the in-demand Frenchman is only willing to sign extended terms if the club bow to his demand for a release clause.

Celtic were successful in fending off interest in their prize asset during the summer window after slapping a prohibitive £40million price tag on him to scare off suitors.

That was enough to deter bids from Premier League clubs who had been tracking the 22-year-old closely over the past 12 months.

A Celtic source has told Football Insider that the club have held talks with Edouard over a new deal that would rocket him to the top of the club’s pay scales.

An agreement is not yet in place with the centre-forward and his camp and there is a strong sense it will need a release clause for the Frenchman to be persuaded to put pen to paper.

The sum of that would be critical, as would the date and time it would come into effect.

Celtic have no intention of letting Edouard, regarded as their most important player, leave in January as Neil Lennon’s side battle for a historic 10-in-a-row in the face of what is shaping up to be the strongest challenge from Rangers in a decade.

Edouard missed last Saturday’s 2-0 Old Firm defeat after testing positive for Covid-19 during the international break.

He has yet to regain the heights of his sensational 2019-20 campaign when he was named the Scottish Player of the Year.

But Edouard has an outstanding record for the Hoops of 66 goals and 36 assists from 132 matches.

    Bit * odd.
Which makes it even more baffling that more wasnt done to make sure someone was at least ready and able to partner Klimala at the weekend.

Pretty much no one expected him to start at the weekend, we all knew he wasnt back til Friday and apart from possibly being able to keep himself fit in a private gym/isolated garden, he wasnt really going to be fit for the weekend anyway.
So who was he trying to kid on? Why wasnt the plan changed to suit the team? Ajeti and Griff not put through some harder training to be nearer match fit (though at this rate they never will be in Lennon eyes).
Or why not have trained with the core of the known squad to play, to a different formation that works better with 1 up top....like the 4231 we have played for 6 years now!!!
