Albian Ajeti is set to offer Celtic a massive boost by returning for the Old Firm game.

But team-mate James Forrest will be missing for another month after scans revealed a stress fracture in an ankle.

Ajeti could return to training at the end of this week as he makes progress from a hamstring pull.

The Swiss international sustained the issue when scoring his fifth goal for the club in their victory over Hibs 10 days ago and missed the subsequent matches against Sarajevo and St Johnstone.

Ajeti's recovery timeline is welcome news following Odsonne Edouard's positive Covid-19 test revealed on Tuesday night.

Manager Neil Lennon has offered an upbeat bulletin on Ajeti with the clash against Rangers looming on Saturday week.

He explained: “Albian is feeling good. I spoke to him Tuesday morning when he came in to do some running and I hope he’ll join us again for training at the end of this week or the start of next week.”

    Thats positive news.
Just surprised we have kept him in Glasgow instead of letting him go to join up with the Swiss squad!!!!!!!

He isn't a 1st pick for the Swiss so they were probably happy to let him stay behind. Also you don't bring a player off in a match so early unless there is a reason.

Great news,he’ll terrorise the Huns slow defence, get in behind them for full 90 minutes,or 98 minutes depending if they need a late goal.

He definitely isn’t in Glasgow unless his insta pic in a private jet is an old one!

Good feeling about Ajeti. I think he could be an absolute star for us.

He has everything about him that we look for.

Interesting. You’re not the 1st person on here to say that. Do you mean in terms of how clinical he is?

His general style of play is nothing like Hooper’s imo but I can see the similarities in composure/confidence around in the penalty box.

He made Samaras look like the ultimate grafter but so skillful it was unreal.

Met him once * out of my head in Cookies kebab shop besides Central Station. I tried to talk to him but was so steaming he couldn't understand a word I said.

He was with a tall stunning brunette who tried to interpret. "I think he likes you" was how she explained what I was trying to say - still cracks me up to this day.

Where he gets his goals from and his instinct. His general play so far hasn’t really been properly seen in my opinion, he’s not been anywhere near fit yet. His hold up play was getting better game by game though, shame he got the injury when he did. Was always going to be a possibility after how long he hadn’t played and with zero pre-season though, we were bedding him in because of that. Just bad luck.

I believe it was the Savoy actually. Wasn't freshly chibbed so couldn't have been Bonkers.
