DEADLY Celtic striker Albian Ajeti expects to be FIT for the Rangers game on October 17.

SunSport understands the crocked Hoops frontman – who has delivered five goals in nine games – has pulled out of the Switzerland squad for their trio of games against Croatia, Spain and Germany.

But the 23-year-old is confident two weeks of treatment on the hamstring strain suffered while scoring in Sunday’s 3-0 win over Hibs will leave him ready to take on Steven Gerrard’s men.

Ajeti is desperate to make the Gers showdown after dramatically rejuvenating his career following his £5million switch from West Ham United where he was a mere fringe player.

He’s so far proved himself a decent capture for Neil Lennon – a sound finisher as well as penalty box poacher.

Ajeti misses the Europa League play-off against Sarajevo in Bosnia plus Sunday’s Premiership game against St Johnstone in Perth.

Wouldn’t risk it 3 weeks is surely far too soon and seems like it will be rushed.

"a sound finisher as well as penalty box poacher."

Wonder what he'd write about Duffy "sound in the air as well as capable of heading a ball".

His workrate and quality up top will be vital for the Hun game. Think him and Eddie could get a good partnership going

If he is fit he must start.....along with eddie.
If Eddie's head still isn't in it then griff.
The guy is just a top finisher and has really shown that he is a class or two above the rest of the league

Totally agree with you there. Hopefully Edouard's head will be back on now that the window is closed. If he really wants a big money move next summer then he needs to knuckle down and go on a tear. Him and Ajeti look like they could do some serious damage together. Having Griffiths back now as well and having this international break to get Eddy's head right and work on Ajeti's and Griffiths fitness could be crucial.

Griffiths just scored his first goal in months and Ajeti has 2 more than Klimala, can I have your dealers number?

*....could even have eddie coming from the left and griff from the right if needed. Forward pushing fullbacks.
    Sploosh.

But in seriousness eddie needs to up his game. Been 70% this season so far and if he wants a big move he needs to come up with the good

No need to rush him back. If we go two up which I think we should, we should have more than enough to win. If the game goes ahead, get a wee bounce game or two arranged. Go with either Edouard and Griff or Edouard and Klimala.

Agree with you again. Edouard has been a shadow of his normal self since we got beat by Ferencvaros. Having this 2 week break though after the window has closed might be a good thing in terms of him getting his head screwed back on and Edouard wanting to really get stuck into having a big season. For me if he leaves for a big money move next summer fine it is what we do with players like Edouard. But in the meantime he has the chance to leave a hero by really getting after it in such a big season for the club.

He woulda been in double figures by now if he’d played in every league game so far. Think he’s only started 3 games in the league and been off the bench 3 times.

He was inconsistent before that game yes but he did score a hat trick against Hamilton and a brilliant solo goal against Reykjavik. Since Ferencvaros he has played 6 games and scored 2 goals.
