Like many others I feel his effort is not in question. Nobody is complaining about his defensive game.

It's frustrating watching him push forward then check his run. Dont think he will ever become good enough going forward but maybe he just needs to learn to play it off earlier or knock it into the right hand corner area for someone to chase.

No matter what we need another LB for cover and competition.

Don't hate him or that but don't rate him in the slightest Dev..

No saying he doesn't have any good moments because he does but honestly man....we could do so much better..

Maybe I'm a stubborn * (missus says I am) but I don't think I'll ever be able to shake him off..

    This.

I like the lad and he always busts a gut but if anything that's even more telling that he tries like * and still it isn't enough...

Honestly cant take to the wee man at all but I thought he was good the other night, especially last 20 mins once we got the lead he defended like a demon.

Still makes me annoyed though when, especially domestically, he constantly plays the ball back the way or square to Calum. Compare him to Frimpong on the other side and its night and day.

Still, credit where its due he was good on Thursday.

I think most fans know he busts a gut. Stick him in a defensive team & Taylor would be a cracking wee player. We need the LB to get up & down the line to help create chances. Taylor can't do this, he gets forward then turns back constantly. He can't beat a man & only gets a decent cross in when the ball is played in front of him & he is running on to it, we don't really get that much space in behind for this to happen enough.

I don't blame the player but the people who decided he suited our system.

Frimpong has blistering pace to go by players, Taylor doesn't and knows his limitations so he'd lose the ball often if he attempted it.

I think he'd do fine in a 4-2-3-1 with a winger playing in front, allowing an overlap, dragging players away etc.

When in possession in a 3-5-2 where he doesn't have the pace to go by guys he's reduced to the infield pass or the ball down the line for the front 2; the problem with that is we aren't getting enough movement from the front 2. His ball v Ferencvaros for the wrongly chalked off goal was superb for example.

Out of possession he's reliant on either a CM carrying the ball and allowing him to pull wide or make a run eg. McGregor v Hamilton x 2 and McGregor v Livingston or a CB doing the same, like Ajer stepping out v Ferencvaros and Taylor putting it on a plate for Christie when he tried the back heel.

Personally I find it hard to criticise the guy when it's patently obvious he's not a LWB. If he gives his all when selected in that position then that's all I can ask. Beyond that it's down to the management and board to find a long-term solution if intent on playing 3-5-2

I didn't think he was any better earlier in the season when we were 4-2-3-1. That being said neither was anyone else.

Everyone knows I'm a board loving happy clapper but honestly when I don't take to a player I find it hard to shake off that feeling.

1st game v Hamilton he had 2 superb runs and assists and couldn't have done much more. He leaned back once in the first half and let a winger get by him, other than that he was faultless really.

Kilmarnock was a stinker for all.

Dundee United he was solid. Good at the back and fizzed a few crosses across the box that were dying to be attacked.

Motherwell he was so, so. Had a few bad crosses which he should have done better with but also could have had another assist if Klimala had been more clinical.

He'd be a dependable squad choice as LB for us but we should be looking to strengthen our choices there but I think the boy comes in for a lot of unfair criticism when he's being set up to fail by management.

bought so we could play 4 at the back in games where we wanted to be more defensively setup

and was a young guy with potential and a saleable asset

remember we bought him after bolingoli so we wanted options there

we had the same on the other side a wingback frimpong and a left back with elhamed

we were obviously looking at really strengthening for europe

Didn't do much wrong today, but as usual he just doesn't have the weapons needed to play as a wing back.

Shouldn't be playing for us tbh, think he would do a good job for another spfl club.

I thought he was alright early first half, but the boy lacks it, a few times tried to knock ball past player, but guys just brushed him off and came away with the ball.

After every game we highlight his deficiencies, rinse and repeat, the onus is now on our recruitment to do something about it.

My heart breaks for him tbh

He's shoehorned into a position that is not his

Finding it harder to slate him as it continues and is more and more evident

If that doesn't prove that a LB/LWB is essential I don't know what will.
