NEIL LENNON insisted that Odsonne Edouard will still be at Celtic to lead their Europa League charge after the Frenchman fired his team into the group stages last night.

Edouard’s all-important goal 20 minutes from time was enough to see Celtic through against a stuffy Sarajevo side in Bosnia, and they will now be seeded in pot one for today’s draw after Copenhagen, Basel, Sporting and Wolfsburg all crashed out.

And Lennon remains bullish on the prospect of Edouard still being in the Hoops after the transfer window closes and those group games roll around.

I’m very confident he’ll still be here after Monday night,” Lennon said.

“In fact, I think I’m very confident they will all still be here.

“We’re very strong on it, we don’t want to sell any of our players — and we don’t need to now.

“Maybe if we hadn’t qualified it would’ve been something the board would’ve had to look at. But, that’s not an issue for us now.”

Lennon was delighted with the predatory nature of Edouard’s goal on the night, and the overall performance of his side.

“It’s bounced up in front of the goalkeeper, he couldn’t hold it and Odsonne’s showed great striker’s instinct to follow it in and score,” he said. “It’s a huge goal from him and for the club.

“As a squad, I couldn’t be happier for them. They’ve been absolutely brilliant.

Edouard has been poor for 3-4 games now - terrible touch , can’t beat a man and work rate is not great either .

any other player in the Celtic team the fans would be asking for him to be dropped but instead we keep making excuses such as wrong position or teams parking the bus etc .

he is either lacking confidence or doesn’t want to be here and I’m starting to think it’s the latter of the two

All Eddy needs is another 4 goals and he will be above * Walker and Judas in top 100 goal scorers list.
Hopefully he does that in the next 2 matches with 1 against St Johnstone and a hat trick against the huns.

Some of what you say is very true but the reason is more to do with the way we play-poor guy does not stand a chance when mostly the ball is played to feet, with his back to goal and a defender on each shoulder. Sometimes, we need to take a chance with a ball over the top, instead of all this side to side stuff.

And he needs help from a recognized striker, not shoehorned players.

I think he’s injured. After the goal Brown was talking to him in their penalty box and told him to go off, 2 mins later he was subbed.

You could be right, I did notice how gingerly he was making his way along the touchline after being subbed.

Noticed that as well, was limping about a lot in the second half.

This is a totallt moot point

But see when he was walking off and around the pitch, Christie and someone else were standing waiting to take the corner and chatting, Eddy practically brushed shoulders with them but none of them even looked at each other :56: I expected a wee low five or something but nada

Doesn't look good atm, also with the whole team being poor and service in the final 3rd non existant at times anyone's going to struggle upfront in their own. He'll come good when the team comes good.

He's completely isolated up top. He needs a striker beside him not a shoehorned attacking midfielder

    Clocked that :50:

Was a bit strange how they never even acknowledged each other whatsoever. Think Mo was the other player..

We don't look like a united team for whatever reason..

He might be spitting the dummy to get away and the club are not inclined until someone makes a big offer. It's hard not to speculate as to what's going on just now. We all sense something isn't quite right.
