When Mikey is back I can see him really linking well with Ajeti when he gets in behind as Ajeti will feed off everything..

On a side note. Mikey had an excellent relationship with Christie and Eddy last year for a spell..

 

Impressed me as well the day, previous appearances he mostly stayed around the box and never seen much of the ball. Few times he did he looked a bit stiff although you knew he was unfit and had barely played in a year but today he was making runs, dropping deep and looked absolute solid on the ball back to goal - probably as good as Ntcham at holding off and rolling a player, link-up was nice and plenty of movement.

Before today I wondered if he was a lazy type who just hung about the box like a Kris Boyd but being the lone forward today he done a great job in coming deep and being involved.

 

You forget about wee Mikey, having him on the left will be like 2 Frimpongs just roasting *.

 

Aye we don't have enough player's that bounce player's off them..

Didn't once see Ajeti beat fairly in a physical battle today with his back to goal..

He was deffo no fit and likely told to just stay around the box and do a job for us when needed. Now you're seeing him a bit fitter and more involved in the build up. Was one where he turned and done a wee run after his goal but dragged it wide..

Signs are absolutely massive with him. It's clear to everyone we've got the instinctive, clincial, hold up striker we've needed since Dembele. He's made for this league with his strength. Gonna cause allsorts of problem's for defences who'd usually bully us..

 

If he was fit right now I'd be playing him left wing back 100% in this side..

 

This is a guy that is proving he can be relied upon to bury any chance he gets. Sounds simple, but a striker like that is very hard to come by. Looking like a great signing, at £5 million West Ham have been done

 

Hooper V2. Quickly falling in love with Ajeti.

 

Early days but looking like a real bargain at £5mil, that finish today was wilthy.

 

Feel Ajeti is class remind me of Harry Kane the way he plays, only so much more handsome

 

Aye he definitely has similarities to Hooper.

I'm a big fan of this guy already. I liked the idea of this type of signing (done well at a similar level but flopped in England) and he's already proven that just because you don't cut at it West Ham doesn't mean you don't have quality.

In a short space of time you can see the strengths he has, but he also looks to have a pretty good temperament as well. Hasn't ever looked panicked or nervous of fazed by anything going on, just gets on with it and looks confident in his ability. Never looks rushed or anything.

One thing I do like is how good he is with his back to goal against bigger defenders. A wee bit like Morelos in the 'stronger than he looks' way when he sticks his * in and either rolls players or gets a foul. That could be a big plus for us in tighter games. It also gives us the option of zipping passes into his feet and getting people playing off him.

When he & Eddy get going they have the makings of a terrific partnership.Playing it into their feet and having the option of Elyounnoussi, Forrest, Christie, Ntcham, McGregor or Turnbull making runs off them is pretty exciting.
