Well worked move. Simple enough for Hendry but he did the job so good on him.

 

Celtic flop Jack Hendry insists he's playing at a higher level while on loan in Belgium.


The Scotland international scored on his debut against Mechele for Oostende last weekend and insists the size of the clubs in Belgium make it a better standard.



It was Hendry's first match since the start of the year when he was on loan at Australian side Melbourne City and suffered a knee injury in just his second game for the club.

And the former Dundee stopper believes the level he's at now in Belgium is a step-up from Scottish football.


He said: "I can handle the pressure of playing for this club because at Celtic there was pressure in every game.

"I think the Belgian League is a higher level than in Scotland.


Here in Belgium, you have several strong clubs like Club Brugge, Standard Liege, Genk and Anderlecht.




But in Scotland, we have only Celtic and Rangers, with a few good teams underneath them.

If you don't play for either Celtic or Rangers, you won't be thought of as playing at a high level, that's my opinion.


For me, I was delighted to score on my debut because I felt I shrugged off all my bad luck of previous months.

"On my first day training here I injured my thigh and was out for four weeks and playing for Melbourne, I tore my knee ligaments.

"So it was great to finally get going here and score a winning goal."

If he could handle it here, he'd still be here. Simples.

Yeah, I don’t think he’s actually said anything which is untrue although I think the idea he portrays of him being able handle playing anywhere because he handled the pressure at Celtic is a major stretch.

I can’t imagine his comments of criticising the level of clubs below us and the rangers will go down too well when he’s inevitably crawling back to the lower half of the SPFL with his tail between his legs in a couple of years.

Can you imagine the total abuse this boy would get if he played like Duffy has for the past half dozen games??!!! He’d have been run out of Glasgow.
