Much as Griff has * me off so many times in the past few years, letting us down just when we needed him most, no way would I like to see him go right now, if we can get him up to speed, he will contribute. Wee man is unplayable when on song. Forget about past glories and all his baggage, just get him up to speed, with the games coming thick and fast, we need him and Tam as options, especially against tight defenses.

Looks to me as if he needs to adjust his lifestyle to get back to his best.

I totally agree that he needs to play and be involved, however my worry would be for Leigh Griffiths the person. He has all the support that a massive organisation can give and he is still struggling massively, yet when he retires all of that is gone and he’ll find himself on his own. It would appear football is mostly all he knows therefore how does he get a job when he retires, coaching? I doubt he’d get a job with us so maybe for his long term benefit he should move on to a club that might allow him to do some coaching. I’d rather he sorted himself out and stayed but it’s looking unlikely.

The pressure of football and the fame/attention that comes with it seems part of the issue.

He will probably love retirement, I’d imagine he’d get into coaching pretty easily with younger teams and make a good living out of it.

I agree. Lenny has been the man to stand by him and give him support during his darkest hours. Lennon has been there and knows the importance of a stable support network. COVID has knocked Griff for six and I believe he needs one more chance. He seemed to be getting around to some normality but nobody could predict what was coming our way and it has been well reported and documented about the struggles people had with depression and mental health during this period. I say, nobody’s fault. Let’s regroup and protect the wee man.

A lot of people complaining about the quality of our set peices including corners and direct free kicks at goal.....

He's not Mr popular with the Celtic support just now and some had a irrational disliking for him even when he was banging in the goals every week but what you're saying is the simple truth.

Perhaps if Griffiths had been professional, and prepared for this season, he would be an option.

Celebrating a guys back in training after another recurring injury that could well have happened due to lack of conditioning, isn't for me.

If he shows the right attitude and grafts the way back into the team and does damage then it'll go some way to right some wrongs. No self-indulgent 'I am number #1' celebrations though please.

Our early season plans were put up in smoke due to him coming back unfit.

The more fit players we have, the better.

I think it's time to move on and get behind everyone in the squad.

No need for a fanfare but also doesn't still need chastised.

As much as I agree with you here, the chances of that happening are * all. One bad performance (if he plays) and the knives will be out. :56:
