Another huge blow for Microsoft, for a game that's been in development for years and was meant to be Xbox's flagship title, it was looking pretty *. Even a few extra months in the oven won't save it. It might still turn out to be a good game, the online will be good for sure, but everyone was expecting a huge upgrade in Graphics, Physics and Ai. Microsoft now need to pull something out the bag and get some exclusives in for the launch window, there only option is getting the check book out and buy some third party titles, as all the new studios they purchased won't have anything out for a while.

Now Microsoft use your head, Asobo studios made the really good Plagues Tale and revived one of your old great franchises, they clearly no what there doing, buy them you need more games.

Got a treble time shift on September weekend so that will pay for it.

Is the $35 a month for Xbox Ultimate Game Pass or am I being daft here?

Na, it's a payment plan where you get the console and progressively pay it off over a period of 2 years..

    Got you.

Do existing Ultimate Game passes get rolled onto the new console?

As does your entire Xbox One game library.

What's the score with this series s? Exactly the same except plays HD instead of 4k? Seems like the one I'd consider since my tvs not 4k anyway.

No disc drive so can only buy games digitally. It is less powerful too apparently. Very decent price though if you are looking for the Gamepass experience.

Really want Microsoft to pull a few exclusives out the bag for the launch Window or else a don't see the point on buying the Series X right now. Another worry is that devs now have to make their games work on the Series S which could hold back the Series Xs true power. PlayStation looks like where the real next gen is gonna be happening. Series X won't get into gear for another 2 years at least when Inxile, Obsidian, Ninja Theory, The Initiative etc start releasing titles.

With the Xbox All Access program now been announced I am getting tempted now, this is a great move. A Series X with gamepass, Xbox Live and Xcloud for 25 quid a month, this looks like a game changer. Payday is on the 23rd a day after pre orders go up, so if Sony drag there heels on price and release date, I can see myself diving in and getting the X at those prices. The 2 major worrys I have with Xbox are, it might get held back by its weaker cousin the S, secondly the first party output is years away.

Have XBOX/MS went sort of inbetween Google Stadia and next gen hard end console?

The split between Series S and X seems to suggest they are looking to hook in a lot more to the subscription model and expect the lesser machine perhaps to be just that. Don't expect they are thinking too many hardcore day one game launch players will be getting it, but the casual who is happy to do all their gaming via the cloud etc will snap that up at such a great * price. Sure you will not get the latest sport title on launch via EA Play, but you will get last years and a whole host of excellent titles across Gold, Game Pass and EA Play now, so much so that £25 a month is a * steal for new hardware and all that! It is the entertainment package for the family system and more casual player.

The Series X is gonna be geared to the tech heads and harder gamers, but even then the price point is great and that subscription service at £35 is brilliant as well, more so that I assume the price point will come down once the hardware is paid off?

Sony I feel will have the better machine/exclusives long term, but they have one * of a mountain to climb here, MS are killing it with all of this easily accessed services.

I wouldn't be so sure about Sony having the better machine..

The only advantage the PS5 is going to have out of the box is the Custom SDD, which they've piled money into creating.. while the Series X will have the superior GPU and CPU.
