Very poor from Lennon in his handling of klimala.

Last season folk defended him not getting game time (rightly so if they wanted to) for not being ready.
The opposite side argued he should still have been match ready since he was coming from a season in full flow anyway, shouldn't have needed pre season or weeks to build up to it.

The next argument against him not getting game time was the 2 up top success of Édouard and Griffith's. Again, rightly.

Come summer the lad has accepted the reasons for not getting in to the side and went and worked his * off, all credit to him for his work ethic.
He came back and looked stronger, hungry and got his goal, then dropped off the face of the earth.

    1. Not ready, is not an excuse any more for him not playing. He clearly has worked his * off during lockdown for this.
    2. On form Édouard and griffith is also not an excuse, Griffith's is no where to be seen and we resorted back to one up top, poor. Then come the one time we don't have a striker ready to go, the lad doesn't get a sniff.

Very very poor man management from Lennon.
Same can go for a number of fringe players who really should have been getting more game time, be it 20-30 minutes off the bench.

Connell, soro, dembele, klimala, Welsh, should all be getting game time, they should be fighting each other for being one of the three subs.
In fact we are allowed 5 now, all 5 should be demanding to be on that pitch at some point.

    Lennon's useless at this *.
No wonder players want to leave or aren't "match ready" when you've got a handful of players who SHOULD be getting game time to make sure they are ready for nights like last night.

Feel for him a bit, he came in Jan and almost instantly Eddie and Griff formed a great partnership so there wasn't really any way for him to get a game before lockdown, which was fair enough I wouldn't have dropped either of them, but it looks like during lockdown he's put in as much work as anyone in the squad, if not more, to build himself up for the physical side of the game, comes off the bench first game of the season shows his workrate/pace and grabs himself a goal, but Lennon would rather start with no striker tonight than give him a chance, baffling stuff.

For his lack of technical ability I have no doubt his running would have caused tiredness in the opposition while creating space for others. His treatment has been shocking and I'm not a fan going by what I've seen of him so far but he must be gutted watching Christie start then ajeti coming on when he looks like he's towing a truck behind him.

We have to stop spending 1,2,3 million on players and not giving them game time or chances to play. It's not like we play barca every week. There are more than enough games where the points are tied up and they can get a chance. Lenny needs to start rotating the tired or out of form players more.

I’d * love him to score on Sunday and cup his ear.

Or do the old Fortune celebration where he’s writing on his palm. I never really understood that one bit I’m guessing it was about the media or him being written off.

I loved him, I had the softest of soft spots for him. Got his name on my bumblebee top and wore it to every P.E class.

He repaid me with 2 class goals and that was about it :giggle1:

Even if he hadn’t started, we were crying out for him in the second half. They looked out in their feet and he could’ve done some damage.

Would love to see him start and rattle in a few goals. If Eddy's not fit he absolutely HAS to play.

Does Lennon actually have a say in any signings?

Whilst I agree with his sentiment there, McManus is a jumped up mouthpiece roaster.

McManus is spot on, clearly Lenny doesn't rate the player, he made that clear with his team selection last night.

It's an insult to our intelligence to keep saying he isn't Match fit ffs.

How do you get match fit if the manager doesn’t rotate the squad?

There were countless games last season we were winning by at least 2 goals and still didn’t bring players who weren’t ‘match fit’ on for minutes in the legs.

In a league where we dominate most of our games there’s no excuse for not being able to get players ‘match fit’.

If he was any decent we'd of saw more of him by now

We sign a striker with a poor goal scoring record then we're surprised he doesn't score goals. Something is seriously wrong with our scouting system if we think it's better to play with a midfielder upfront rather than a £2m signing

Did Bayo ever get a proper run in the team ?

We seem to be writing players off without even giving them a chance, it's crazy.

Plenty of games where players could get game time, but naw Lenny just sits there and does nothing. :31:
