SB: "It'll be good to get back into games. The lads have missed it but they've worked hard in the extended pre-season we've had. It's been a long time since we've had a competitive game so it's huge for us that we hit the ground running."

SB: "We know the pressure is always on us and the fans expect us to win week in week out and we thrive off that. It's about us going out there and putting in a performance that's good and attractive for the fans."

SB: "I always want to win games whether it's in training, in front of 60 thousand or in front of nobody. We know it's going to be difficult playing in front of no fans but we've had a couple of test games and played well so we look to continue that on Sunday."

SB: "The gaffer instills that winning mentality. He was a winner when he played and he is a winner as a manager. He instills that into all the new players coming in and the younger players coming up.

SB: "For us the last nine seasons have been incredible. But we try and push boundaries every year and that's what we aim to do this year again."

SB: "The new 5 sub rule really benfits us. We've looked in the past and thought you could bring on 4 or 5 players at the time and we've got the option now so it's good for us."

I thought this year would be a bridge too far for him TBH. Then again, I thought last year would too. I suspected the year before that that might be too much as well. A lot of people were saying it even before that...

Hope he proves us wrong at least one last time and it occurs to me that the unprecedented long break we just had might actually prolong his career a bit further.

Not surprised at all by that.

    He’ll still start midweek though.

He was poor today and he’ll correctly start midweek because he remains a crucial player for us.

Because he's been written off a number of times, and I've done it, it's difficult to say "time is up".

However, the guy is 35 now. At some point he's going to slow down and it's already happening. He's still an important player for us, but he doesn't need to and shouldn't be starting every game.

What did he offer today? Zero attacking threat, was slow as * on and off the ball, which lead to him giving the ball away as well as getting a stupid booking. Ntcham would have been better suited to that game, and many games we play.

I'd just like to see someone with more energy, pace and ability to play forward passes regularly in his role.

Lockdown wont have helped, playing alot keeps it in his legs at his age.. i do think at home in the league and early cup rounds theres a case to go with more legs and creativity. He'll still play a massive part for us this season though.

Was towing a caravan out there. Be a while before Broony is up to scratch.
