Fletcher is still good to go, knocking in double figures still.
Just because the hun spent big, doesn't mean they have quality.

Let's just take it that Fletcher is a replacement for bayo. Then we keep edoaurd for one more year and one of ajeti or Toney are brought in. I think ajeti was seen as the replacement for edoaurd next season if all had gone to plan. Griff and klimala then around the place too. Klimala is so hungry so hopefully he comes on plenty too. If Fletcher is on a pay by play as previously suggested it can't really be a bad thing

Happy with Fletcher as a Bayo replacement. The 9 subs in squad and being able to make 5 subs makes Fletcher a no brainer. People need to remember we played a cup final with no striker last year due to a lack of depth

Wow, this reminds me of the time when Rangers were signing absolute * players down south, brassneck.

I'd be more glad giving Afolabi or Aitchison a chance.

Can see the need for 4 with playing 2 up..

Problem is, can we see 5 senior strikers on the books?

Eddy. Klimala. Griff. Fletcher say and I'm assuming we still want an Ajeti or Toney..

Hard to see 3 of those sitting tight. We may only play 1 up a lot of the time, meaning 4 possibly on the bench. If it was an Afolabi or Aitchison beefing up the 5, I could see it but no Fletcher being 5th choice possibly on 10/15 grand a week..

Why? What have either of those done that makes them better options than Fletcher?

Aitchison ended up playing a rotation role at Forest Green last season, scoring 5 goals in 28 games in League 2. Afolabi's only experience at senior level is about 5 games at Dunfermline.

If we sign him, he'll be coming in to replace Bayo. He's a massive upgrade in that sense. The difference with the huns is that they were signing those players to go into their strongest team, or as direct backup for a starter.

Found it funny that Sutton was bigging him up earlier, maybe been told something and tryna get the fans on side with this. I don’t really see the need for him if Ajeti or Toney is coming.

Only way it would make sense to get Fletcher and Toney or Ajeti would be if we were seeing 2 leave. Possibly Bayo out on a perm and Klimala out on a season long loan. Unless Griff is for the off?

Think it be Griff if you could be gone. We seem absolutely dead set on bringing in at least 2 strikers. I hope it's not edoaurd anyway

Celtic are set to seal a deal to bring Steven Fletcher to Parkhead.

Record Sport this week revealed the club had launched talks with the experienced striker - and it’s close to being agreed.

It is understood Celts have offered the 33-year-old a one year deal but the hitman is holding out for a longer contract.

But Hoops boss Neil Lennon is keen on bolstering his attack by adding the ex-Hibs, Sunderland and Sheffield Wednesday ace and are confident both sides can strike an agreement.

The Scotland star is a free agent and believed to be targeting a return north of the border following a successful decade down south.

The 33-year-old broke through at Hibs and went on to score 52 goals in 189 games for the capital club.

Fletcher has gone on to have a successful career in England, representing the likes of Burnley, Sunderland and Wolves.

He hit 13 goals in 27 Championship games for Wednesday last term but became a free agent when his contract expired.

And he could now be set to make his return to the Scottish top flight as he fills a gap in Neil Lennon's attack.

I suppose I would rather Fletcher to Bayo but we need to bring in Ajeti or Toney as well

Happy with him signing as think itll be to replace Bayo

Think we look better playing a 3-5-2 think we need a starting CB for that shape , but can't play Frimpong , Taylor , Forrest , Elyounoussi and Brown , McGregor and Christie with 2 strikers

Could this mean Griffiths is done? Hopefully not but assuming Bayo leaves we arent signing Fletcher as an alternative to Ajeti/Toney or to replace eddy, and I think it would be pretty harsh putting Klimala out on loan after a decent pre season
