Maybe he is lacking in a little confidence just now or trying too hard to impress , always felt he had very safe hands wen number 1 ,3rd goal was a bit poor ,but I think gd was unsighted .

Definitely need a number 1. Lenny knows this anyway..

Was definitely poor for the 3rd goal..

Actually made a couple of decent saves as well but we need a confident, commanding keeper in..

    Exactly this.

Got nothing against Bain I actually think he's a decent keeper but if we're gonna be at all ambitious we need better when the real stuff starts.

Once again: he might be a nice guy, he might be useful, whatever, but we are going absolutely nowhere with this guy as first choice goalkeeper. He is a bang average SPFL level goalkeeper. Not his fault that he is in the position of being the first choice in a club with the stature of Celtic (remember the shambolic pathetic spectacle when he was signed?) but we really, really should aim for better. Otherwise any slightly decent team in Europe will punish us.

Bain was signed as back up, he performed as back up.
He came in to play some games when it became more than obvious that Gordon wasn't fit to wear the gloves any more.
He returned to backup last season while a * poor Gordon had his contract run out.
We got rid of Gordon and chased Forster.

Bain knows he is backup, he ain't under any illusions.

But I'm somewhat amazed how people seem to think we are actually planning on going in to the season with bain as number one.

It's been clear as day since day one we are chasing other keepers.
Admittedly I want us to pull the finger out about it, but clear as * we aren't sitting back with just bain here.

No point greeting about it, another keeper will come in one way or another.

He’s poor. Nowhere near good enough.

Good distribution but that’s redundant under Lennon.

We badly need a first choice keeper. If Bain is first choice for any significant amount of time then we’re in trouble.

Decent back up but we do need a quality keeper, clock is ticking

    He gives you the fear..

I actually don't mind him but you can see the defence don't fully trust him and he just isn't at the level we need..

Obvious I know as we've just signed another number 1..

Why do keepers never just catch a ball these days

Perfect back up and hasn't let us down.

    Just doesn't have that presence..

Can see Barkas shouting a lot at Ajer and Jullien, they need it sometimes.

Not a whole lot he could have done with the goal, but I reckon Forster or even Barkas would have saved it because of their height.

I'm presuming these new balls are just to hot to handle. Have you ever done nets?

I genuinely believe Barkas saves that. We'll never know but his reflexes (as Lenny pointed out and his YouTube show) are top notch..

I'd say Forster would as well but he let a diabolical deflection in at Easter Road last year..

I actually thought he was a safe pair of hands the day. Caught most of the balls in to the box.

Distribution was excellent as usual - was different level to Forster for example. On a couple of occasions he drove nice balls right into Brown’s feet at the centre circle which put us right on the front foot again.

Ajer and Jullien had plenty of hot totty moments last season when Forster was in goals. I’m no letting Bain take the fall for some of Ajer’s mistakes the day when he’s been getting bullied for a bit too long at set pieces especially..

He did get a "weak" hand to it, but agree, reckon the other 2 would have got a "strong" hand to it.

That palm over the bar in the first half looked so unnecessary, there was also this weird chest thing he did in the second half when their lad was flagged offside.

Anyway, I like him as backup nonetheless.

He made what seemed like a simple save into this great looking save and made it look like Hamilton had the best chance

Jeez give the lad a break hahah the ball was swerving when he punched it over. He went with the safe option. Played some great passes out from the back and all in all did well. Not a * thing he coulda done for their goal and neither would barkas or Forster of got to it either. Great back up keeper for us cos he’s done exactly what’s asked of him.
