Strangely enough, I think he looks younger with it shaved.

I see the knuckle draggers at that horrendous den of bigotry, Bristol Bar, have paid our skipper the ultimate compliment. He totally lives rent free in their pea brains.

The Parkhead boss, who revealed Scott Brown wasn’t risked due to a slight injury,

Skipper Brown could be back as his injury absence last night was not serious.

Lennon said: “Scott has maybe a little trapped nerve, it’s tracking his back and hamstring. There was no point taking a risk.”

Celtic captain Scott Brown reckons the relentless competition for places in the squad has pushed them on to achievements few thought possible.

The Hoops have won the last 11 domestic trophies available and stand on the verge of an historic tenth title in a row.

And that has only been possible because the squad pushed each other to the limits, with the 35-year-old admitting not even he is guaranteed a first team berth.

He told the Celtic View: “You are not guaranteed to start in the gaffer’s team no matter who you are.”

That’s part of what makes us push one another to a different level.

“That’s also why the focus on us winning Nine In A Row happened, we all pushed each other to boundaries I don’t think we thought possible. We pushed each other to boundaries I don’t think we thought we could but we managed to do so.”

Brown has spent 13 years at Celtic Park since his £4.4m move from Hibs in 2007.

By today's standards, that's an eternity but Brown doesn't regret a minute of it and knows he will leave as part of the club's rich history.

He said: “Celtic is a great club with great fans and the stadium is so impressive now, especially with them having done the Celtic Way up as well. We’re always looking to try and maintain a level of professionalism throughout the whole squad, and we’re always looking to put on a good performance at Celtic Park and beyond.

“I’ve said this so many times but the reason I came to Celtic was to win trophies and to play in Europe. I’ve done that. I’ve played against some of the best players in the world

I won the league in my first season here, and to go and lift that first trophy as captain will always be something I’m immensely proud of.

“That was the first of the current nine, and it’s been an incredible achievement to go nine years in-a-row and be so consistent throughout, to maintain that form and that aggressiveness and that never-say-die attitude.

    "The same applies this season.”
