£2M would be a cracking deal for him, his interview with Si Ferry you can tell he still wants the move here.

Take him in and * where he is and we can always loan him back. Don’t want to end up losing Rogic and scrambling for a replacement last minute or the inevitable injury Rogic will pick up anyway.

It would be history repeating itself if we lost out on Turnbull, after the McGinn fiasco and many previous instances in the past - Steven Fletcher and James McFadden to name only two. Stinginess in the home transfer market has cost us league titles in the past; it would be unforgivable if this happened again (although I'm not suggesting that Turnbull would be the difference between winning and losing the championship this season, but it would be infuriating if we missed out, and he went on to be a huge success in England).

It's not like money hasn't been wasted on previous recruitment gambles

Scepovic, Kouassi and the American guys were shocking purchases. At least Turnbull knows the Scottish game!

Sign him and loan him back to motherwell for a year with option of calling him back in January. Let him play a full season and develop further and then come in next year when opportunities for game time will likely increase with the probable sale of Ntcham or Rogic or both

I just want him in the door! If we loan him back until January and have the option to recall I think that might suit both clubs however it might not suit Turnbull himself he may just want to get started with us

Yeah he probably will. Probably spent the last year itching to play for us. The problem I see is that unless someone goes, such as ntcham or Rogic. His game time may be limited here and considering he's missed a full season, 6 months of regular game time at motherwell wouldn't do him any harm.
Could then join up in January if someone moved on then or just to bed him in so he hits the ground running for the following season.

Well that really depends on the severity of the injury. He wont be near match sharpness until he gets a good few games under his belt and only then will his knee really be tested.

CELTIC could reignite their interest in Motherwell comeback kid David Turnbull.

The Hoops looked to have won the race to sign the Scotland Under-21s starlet last season

But his £3million-plus move to Parkhead collapsed when his medical flagged up an issue in his knee.

Turnbull, 21, was then forced to go under the knife, sitting out the majority of the 2019/20 campaign.

However, Neil Lennon remains a huge fan of the playmaker - who turned down a move to Norwich last summer.

And the Daily Mail reports that chief scout Nicky Hammond watched Turnbull in action during Friday's behind closed-doors match against Kilmarnock at Fir Park.

Turnbull lasted an hour before he was replaced by Chris Long in the 3-2 friendly defeat.

And should Turnbull rediscover the sensational form that was him voted as the Scottish Football Writers’ Young Player of the Year in 2019, he could yet end up at Celtic Park before the transfer window closes on October 5.

    Isn't a surprise we're still watching him..

Lenny has monitored him from his academy day's for year's and Turnbull admitted on open goal that we were still in close contact..

It's a risky one because of what's happened with him but if we sign him, then no one can say we haven't done our homework..

Is it a risk? Like he had an anomaly identified that wasnt currently causing him problems , it was identified and rectified? If it hadn't been spotted his knee could have blown and at any time and then we would be in trouble. So just because he has had previous knee surgery doesn't necessarily mean he will have future problems with that knee?

Not sure it’s a position we need strengthened, but would take him at the right price (which is significantly less than the £3m previously agreed)

We should defos buy him. Would also loan Henderson as part of the deal.

    It's 100% a risk..

He may be fine but there's no guarantees he'll be the same player or that his knee won't buckle..

It's not an area that needs strengthened, but if he's as good as some make out maybe offer £2m.at most, throw a player in on loan and give them a slightly bigger sellon clause.
