Just listened to a Scottish Football Podcast and this was a question.

The five most important people at the club for nine in a row?

Im going to go for 6 because I believe last two places may be up for debate.

    1: Neil Lennon
    2: Brendan Rodgers
    3: Scot Brown
    4: James Forrest
    5: Calum McGregor
    6: Leigh Griffiths

I don’t know if there will be much variation as first three for me is a stick on but maybe discuss the merits of others.

Peter Lawwell has to be in there, surely?

    1. Scott Brown - The captain and leader throughout.
    2. Neil Lennon - Brought back the thunder, put us on the right road and now he’s back to finish the journey.
    3. James Forrest - The only other constant presence as a player and a standout for the last few years.
    4. Leigh Griffiths - His contribution in Deila’s last season can’t be overstated.
    5. John Kennedy - His loyalty to stay put when the rat left highlights how important a link he’s been over the last three managers’ tenures. He’s been a constant steady presence when the ship has looked close to rocking.
    6. CalMac - Absolutely different class since he broke into the team.

Lustig’s leadership and personality deserves a mention too.

Completely agree. We run Scottish football behind the scenes now because of him.

Hard to choose just 6 but gave it a go. As good as Van Dijk and Dembele were I think we would’ve won the league with out them. If Eddy leads us to 10 he will be going on the list. Player wise I think our team is built around CalMac, Brown and Forrest and has been for years now, they are IMO our most important players. All Scottish aswell, If KT had stayed he would be mentioned along with them 3 but he didn’t. I love how we have such a Scottish core in the team with CalMac and Forrest coming through the ranks.

Good shout with Fergus. Goes to show that a list of six won’t be exhaustive.

I was going to list him but stuck to the playing side. Such a pivotal figure in the overall but he is paid handsomely and doesn’t need accolades. Hahahaha. :50:

    Broony
    Lenny
    Lawell
    The Rat
    Lustig- always loved him

And the most important thing at the club, ...us.
The fans year after year spend money on tickets and merchandise. We are the foundations it has all been built on.

I actually think there’s a good argument to be made for him being the single most important figure.

He’s been here the entire time through the ups and the down, grown the commercial side of the club and kept us on even footing, appointed every manager involved in the 9, and even had time to set up TUFH (The Unseen * Hand). Establishing an intricate network of Celtic-minded individuals across the legal, financial and political systems of Scotland is no mean feat.
