40 games on loan in total. 7 goals.

He ain't gonna cut it here is he? Or with better players around him maybe he will prosper? Few bench appearances maybe..

Can't see him getting a chance anyway with our options available.

Sadly it's looking unlikely for him but I'd like to give him one more chance maybe a start and a few subs appearances to see how he does as you say 'with better players around him'. I don't see there being much risk in giving him some more minutes.. surely better than punting and then looking back with regret a few years down the road.

Yeah I'm thinking that time in League 2 down south will have taught him plenty, he looks to have filled right out in the few years since his debut here.

Would like to see what he's got.

He plays striker for us though, he went down there and played as a wide winger so would say that’s a good return for a * team! Haha and also playing that level of games at a better level than the Scottish championship can’t do any harm. He’s only 20 so would like him in and around the team now in his right position

Keatings was/is faster. Aitchison is right footed and Keatings left but Keatings has a much more dangerous delivery and dig than Aitchison as well..

    Deffo no cutting it here..

He's an intelligent player and technically skilled and a good goalscorer around the box but being small and no real pace it will be hard for him, even someone like Stokes who he is maybe similar to footballing wise was a good bit bigger and quicker than him and more able to play up front or on the wing for us.

Scott McDonald should be inspiration for him, similar physically in terms of height and pace. McDonald only scored 4 goals in his first 50 club games as well and it wasn't until his 2nd season at Motherwell when he was 22 that he started to play well. Took him years and a lot of dabbling in and out of first team football to probably transition from being good against other youngsters to then develop on how to use his body and movement against bigger guys and be able to play well.

Aitchison was always a level above other young players with skill and technique but against 6ft 2 12 stone men who are faster than him he'll need a lot of experience to work out how to play against them.

Could be a player like Mulgrew who goes away for 2-3 year then comes back at 22/23/24 as a good player.

That season will have done him the world of good. If he was getting played wide in an average team then that return isn't too bad either. Another year on loan somewhere then let's see how far he's progressed.

Two different players. Keating was more a off the front player when he left us whereas Jack is a goalscorer. Scored plenty at reserve level and has been played as winger down south. To right him off without him even getting games is a bit unfair and t h I would liked to see him stay in Scotland on loan at say Motherwell or Kilmarnock

If he’s not gonna be in and around the first team this year another years loan down in England would be better I’d say. Team aiming for promotion in league 1 would be good for him. But hopefully as a striker; Don’t think he’s a winger

Tbh he needs games but not sure if League 2 in England is the right level. Imo he would get games at SPL or the championship in Scotland. I would prefer if he was playing in Scotland so that he played against players that were nearer his level. I hope he gets a chance as he was a regular scorer at youth /reserve level and it would be good to see another young player coming through

40 games on loan can only a positive it is exactly what you want out of a loan deal, think Mikey Johnston would of and would still benefit from a run of games like that .wouldn't make a bit of difference if he scored 7 or 70

For some reason teams in the prem seem reluctant to loan our youngsters, so they end up in the championship. But they could definitely play in the prem; doohan/hazard/O’Connor/afolabi/welsh. So I’d be surprised if a team came in for him within our league. Although they should and I hope they do. Always thought aitchisons looked class at every level and it’s mad he’s still only 20

Just for info mate, it was 25 games he played at Forest Green, still a good run.

The 40 also includes his time at Alloa and Dumbarton :50:

He’s 20 and better than a lot of youngsters we have, with more experience than them too. Think he’ll have a good career down there and Barnsley give youth a chance
