Id put faith in him and see if we could get him for a reduced fee.
He was desperately unlucky and i think he is deserving of the chance and get a proper rehab done under our observation

Not worth the risk if anything over £1.5m. If Motherwell want £3m then they have to wait.

Considering the climate and type of window we are about to go in to, I'd take him.

Likely ntcham could be moved on, unlikely to be for the value we know it should be for.
Turnbull brought in on 1.5-2mill will be good business. For us it's a decent price and a replacement for ntcham who was second fiddle to McGregor and brown anyway, so we are quids up in that aspect. For Motherwell it will be much needed cash that will see them through.

For next season, for me Europe is not a concern at all. What ever version of European football comes to us, just make a good impression is all I care for.
If we don't progress by a group stages so be it.
So in that regards, Turnbull wouldn't be too big a gamble in my opinion.
Mid two of brown and McGregor with Turnbull, soro, Henderson, even Christie and Robertson able to fill in. That's more than decent for the domestic season in my eyes.

Would give Turnbull time to develop and grow in to the squad, if he proves his worth then excellent, if it turns out he isn't up to the speed we want, we can then go out and buy next year a ntcham replacement as such and loan Turnbull south.
Next year financially things would be better the world over.

You think Motherwell are maybe wishing they took the offer we gave them last summer now? I'm trying to remember what the * it was now. We offered them so much of the fee and he would do his rehab with us and if he returned to form we would give them the full 3 million. Motherwell were probably betting on him getting back to fitness by now and wouldn't have been expecting a global pandemic

Is Turnbull not an out and out attacking mid? Ntcham is more a box to box so I don't know if he could he considered a replacement for ntcham. Although in this climate I'd take him

I believe more attacking minded, though I don't feel Ntcham was all that defensive in the first place. Turnbull, for me, doesn't sit quite as far forward as the number ten role, perhaps more like a Christie when he is played in the Brown/McGregor position?
It would be a different dynamic from ntcham, and certainly a different style.

He's a central midfielder could probably play deep lying playmaker as well as more forward or in a 3..

No need to take a punt on him.

If he gets back to his best Jan may be better..

and what a season it was. The risk needs to be weighed up. Celtic will know where he is at with his knee.
A smaller transfer fee with appearance fee clauses could work.
