Really surely more players will become free agents and available on cut price fees if this is the case could be a good thing

Leagues in England and Spain will try to finish their leagues to prevent it. It is the only reason they haven't been called.

Maybe, but Scotland is in the heavily infected UK. Might be hard to attract many freebies with the health situation looking bad. Then again, I don't know if Scotland itself has a lot of active cases.
I do think the pandemic will reduce the number of players actively trying to chase bigger money. Might help us keep Edouard and Ajer.

If we get a good offer for Ajer he will be away his agent has said as much. Could let us reinvest elsewhere in the squad get in another CB

Block that transfer with reminders that Spain isn't a good place for a person who needs functional lungs right now. I expect Kristoffer to see reason and not throw tantrums. He's Norwegian, not Brazilian.

Leicester are said to be interested and leading the way for his signature

I thought our board is at odds with Brendan Rodgers after his abrupt departure?

Rodgers is a snake * but I would let him have Ajer if he offered big money

I wouldn't. Way too versatile player to let go. In a year, Brown could hang up boots, and we don't have many leaders in the dressing room. Ajer is a natural DM and has leadership qualities. His mixed performances at CB are partly caused by him being retrained to that position.

Dives in all the time goes to ground too quickly. for the money being talked about I would sell him we have cover for Brown. For me if he doesn't want to be here he can go

Soro should play, but after Brown retires, we could be down to one DM again. No player is perfect, but I would prioritize keeping Ajer, certainly. COVID 19 might help in reducing the chances of a transfer happening.

I know DM is where Ajer started his career in Norway but it won't be where he plays in top level football.

You need to be reasonably quick on the turn, comfortable taking in and recycling the ball and a knack of knowing when to commit yourself to ground. None of which are Ajer's fortes.

He has the physical attributes to be a very good CB but he still has a lot to learn.

Yes, because we sell and buy in the UK transfer market, with a bit of dabbling in French Africans. Both UK and France have been hit hard by COVID 19.

Surely potential bankruptcies of French clubs which would leave players out of contract and a depression of transfer fees would be positives for us?

We're more insulated than the vast majority of clubs financially.

Our board relies on fees from player sales more than fees from European qualifications and runs that go past group stages. Where would they get revenue, then? Oh, and no attendance for at least some time.

French clubs in poor financial health and lower half EPL sides wouldn't be our markets for our assets though. Eddie will command a £25m+ fee from clubs still and that's also the amount being touted for Ajer.

We have 1 round this season before we potential bank £30-40m from the UCL group stages.

No attendance doesn't necessarily mean no attendance income. Supporters in a position to still make their contribution to the club will continue to do it.

Seriously? Haven't followed UEFA decisions on qualifiers. Great if true.

However, I don't believe top clubs will be too keen on spending either. An article in the sports section of a portal I read said the bigger clubs are losing billions due to the lull in football. Borussia, PSG, Real Madrid, etc.

Where I expeect the club to deliver is Forster. There's clear interest on his part to stay, and he should be cheap because of it, actually. Any other incoming transfers are a bonus. Ajer and Edouard hopefully are convinced to stay, especially if we have only 1 round of UCL qualifiers to do.

That's the proposition in order to get the 20/21 UCL played.

There's definitely going to be a financial fall-out from this but I think we are one of the club's who stands to benefit from it.
