On this day 15 years ago, Hearts fans fail to respect a minute's silence for Pope John Paul II at the start of the 2004/05 Scottish Cup Semi Final.

2 mins later a Chris Sutton goal does what common decency can't do and sends the Hearts end into silence.

Future Celtic keeper Craig Gordon fails to deal with a near post Bellamy strike that sends Celtic 2-0 up.

He redeems himself with several big saves as Celtic push for a 3rd, before Hearts claim a consolation goal through Cesnauskis.

Celtic 2 - 1 Hearts. Celtic through to the 2004/05 Scottish Cup Final.

The failure to observe that’s minute silence lead to the introduction of the minute of applause!

You must be wrong the huns say it because of our fans constantly coughing during minutes silences.

On this day 53 years ago, Celtic host Czechoslovak Champions Dukla Prague in the 1st Leg of the European Cup Semi Final.

Goals from Jinky and Willie Wallace x 2 in front of a crowd of 74,000 put Celtic 3-1 up and in the driving seat to move through to the final of the European Cup.

On this day 12 years ago, Celtic get revenge on a Motherwell team that had defeated them 1-0 at Celtic Park the previous week and left them 7 points behind Rangers with 7 games to play (having played an extra game)

This was the start of the fight back that would see Celtic overturn the deficit and win the title for Tommy and Phil.

I always forgot how deadly JVoH was. 2 brilliant centre forward goals here.

Enjoyed that JC, cheers for posting.

We moved to 3rd row in Main Stand Front in 97 and I was * myself thinking I'd get trampoled on after seeing the pitch invasions at the final game in previous years :celtman2:

On this day, 31 years ago...

Celtic host Liverpool in their first match since the Hillsborough Disaster in a match to remember the 96 individuals who lost their lives and raise funds for the victims families.

After a minutes silence a rousing rendition of "You'll Never Walk Alone" rings out before kick-off, as a star-studded Liverpool team run out 4-0 winners on the day.
