Nothing to be worried about. We don't need the money, and if the season restarts we will win it at a canter and get to celebrate it on the park.

My own feeling is that even if it were not possible for them to catch us and the league was "declared ' it would still not be the same as winning it in front of our fans,, that feeling is never going to be replaced by an announcement.

ps their bitterness is the only upside to the whole fiasco .. and i am off to stock up on popcorn coz all these statements keep coming out after 10pm my time and we got a curfew.

Hun Tears will be a special vintage this year

    14 team league.

Would that mean a split after 2 rounds of games then play each team in the top/bottom 7 twice after the split ?

I don't think it's hollow at all. It's obviously not ideal not to be able to celebrate in the stands but us winning the League was literally a matter of time.

We were 5 games away from a quadruple Treble.

No amount of hun tantrums or media spin will ever change that. Fresh off the back of a pasting off Leverkusen, we were about to murder them for the 2nd time this season in front of their own fans.

Arguably the biggest beneficiary out of this whole episode is Gerrard. If we had won that game and then they were knocked out Europe (which they would've been) the following Thursday, they would be demanding his sacking. Now the football has stopped they all seem to have forgotten he's a hopeless manager.

They have also forgotten how * they are aswell. They pretty much hated their team after the Hamilton game but now they think they could’ve won the league :56:

They will start next season with a lot of the same team, and best of all same manager.

Aye, a small dose of deludamol in the summer and they'll all be wittering on about how they were cheated out of this League and that next season will definitely be their year. Dust off the 'Going for 55' banner for a 5th year in a row.

    Rinse and repeat.

The league was over. We would have went to Ibrox and won as well. They were in complete disarray. They numptys know that as well. They were delighted that it looked like this league could not be completed and have been pushing for null and void from the start. It was the only possible way to stop us from winning 9.

There is undoubtedly teams who have lost out because of this vote, teams in play-off places who won't get the chance to be promoted. Falkirk who were very much in with a chance of winning the league, and of course teams who as it stand will be relegated. If we are awarded the league then we haven't lost out but we are going to miss out on finishing it off and celebrating in front of our fans, just like Cove and Dundee Utd. We all had our leagues wrappped up. The Scottish Cup is another matter. We are odds on favourites for that also to complete a quadruple treble and we don't know if we are going to get the chance to complete this. Aberdeen, Hearts and Hibs might lose out on a chance to win a trophy.

A team who sit second in the league and 13 points adrift and out of the Scottish Cup however, well they have not lost out. For that shower to be making this all about them and how they have been wrongly treated is nothing short of embarrassing, not surprising however. A more shameless set of supporters you will never come across. You couldn't mark their neck with a blow torch.

I'd definitely prefer that to the current system.

Also means if we need to shorten next season we could just play each team twice and run a 26 game league

    Weve not won it yet

There is the small chance we can still play the games out.

I don’t mind a 14 team league or some changes in general for next season, but I’d be firmly against any significant reduction in the number of games.

So am I, I just meant it's flexible enough of we have to start next season late or finish it early.

Fair * to PTFC on not taking any legal action to make sure they don’t put any club under. This was so harsh on Thistle. Some clubs have a cheek to shout about it when it didn’t effect them in any way (Sevco).

To be relegated at any time in a club’s life is, in a sporting context, an enormous setback. You accept your fate, because it was in your hands to change the outcome.

However, to be relegated in the arbitrary and unjust way we are currently experiencing, with no say in it, is heartbreaking for everyone at Partick Thistle, including staff and players and especially our fans.

We advised the SPFL on Tuesday of the joint counsel’s Opinion we had sought in relation to the validity – or not – of the Dundee FC vote cast last Friday.

To be clear, we did not threaten litigation, we sought clarity on the legal points raised.

We still regard this as a strong legal Opinion that raises significant issues around the whole process of the vote and related matters. Having taken further legal advice, we have been advised that we have the option to take this before a court. Instinctively, injustice demands reparation.

However, as a Club, the decision to relegate Thistle is first and foremost about our people and what this might mean for them. To pursue court action costs money and considerable time – so we have had to consider carefully whether both could be better spent on securing the Club’s future and protecting the livelihoods of those we employ. In deciding what our next steps should be, that was our first priority.

Thistle has always lived in the real world so we also looked at the bigger picture of the life-changing pandemic we find ourselves in. The resulting lockdown is challenging the very existence of some clubs. If we were to take this action to court, there is a risk that might stop the release of much-needed monies to those clubs on Friday.

That’s a step too far for us. Regardless of what’s been inflicted on Thistle, we can’t be responsible for pushing even one club to the brink. It would be hypocritical of us to have espoused “do no harm” as a reason why we shouldn’t be relegated and then do exactly that.

Taking all of that into account, although we stand by the legal Opinion, the Board has agreed that we will not seek “further remedy” against the SPFL in order to overturn the Resolution. Although we remain at a loss to understand why a decision was taken – at a time when Governments are seeking to support jobs across sectors – that will cause significant damage to Thistle and others.

Instead, we will focus our efforts and monies on Thistle and look forward, not back. That includes making a positive contribution to the discussions on possible changes to the league structures.

We aren’t looking for sympathy, we don’t need it. We are a well-run, debt-free club with a proud history of rolling with the punches. We may be down but we are not out. When football returns, we will be here, ready to play, regardless of the league we are in.

To our fans, we hope you understand why we have reached this decision. No one should regard this as a sign of weakness – it shows our strength and resolution to get through this despite relegation being forced on us. We aren’t doing what’s easy but we are doing what is right for our Club, our people and for clubs across Scotland. We are grateful for your solid support and encouragement – and when next we meet at Firhill, it will be to start the fightback to right this wrong.

Aye respect to them as they've been dealt a harsh hand..

That will be another blade in the Huns who were relying on them going with legal action..

All we need now is UEFA to declare no qualifiers for Europe due to the pile up and putting us straight in to the champion's league :fear:

    Make it happen PM Lawwell..
