Anyone know the teams still holding training sessions against the advice of the government and football governing bodies?Whats there to gain by this anyway,to try and catch an advantage over other teams if the league was to start up soon? Its obvious that it won’t start up anytime soon and if it was we would get sufficient warning in advance.

That will have to stop now given the announcements today. Surprised it was still going on. Pretty reckless.

Do 2 leagues of 14 with each league teams playing each other 3 times plus halfway through teams from each league in equal position (League A Pos 1 v League B Pos 1) home and away so making it 41 matches.
2 from each league go down and 4 come up.

Assuming this season gets finished first ...
Next season will need to be shorter. I don’t see the problem with just playing twice... so 26 fixtures of expanded league.

This episode has shown what a ‘rancid pile of *’ (guess the film) the split actually is. Sooner it’s gone the better as far as I’m concerned.

If we have two leagues of 14, with 2 relegated and 4 promoted, surely a few years down the line we’d end up with just one league of 28?

    No, we wouldn't.
Leagues A and B being parallel leagues. and League C being the lower league.
A draw being made to allocate the teams from last season top 28 teams, to the 2 parallel leagues.
    14 teams League A; 14 teams League B; 14 teams League C Leagues A and B being parallel leagues.
    League A - 2 relegated to League C
    League B - 2 relegated to League C
    League C - 4 promoted (2 to League A and 2 to League B)

League C, the lowest league being the national league makes no sense. They would do more travelling on a lower budget. Also playing all teams 3 times makes less sense than the current system. More games, and certain teams having a massive advantage over others.

players i suspect are still being paid and their contracts are running down

really i think football with the money thats in the game should be able to get officials and players tested before games and the games get played behind closed doors televise the games there will be more viewers with no one allowed to go to the games which means more advertising money for the tv companies

i just dont know why this is so slow to being introduced

Serie a has only 1 point between the top 2 teams, handing a title to Juve is not quite as simple as Celtic and Liverpool getting titles.

At least at the top levels I can see that players, officials and medical staff being tested and the games being played behind closed doors. But teams outside the top divisions probably would not all have the money for that and would need financial help from somewhere to make that happen.

    FIFA:

With the likelihood that this season will carry on beyond the end of June the game's governing body has been trying to work through a number of issues that would throw up, with contracts just one of them.

According to a report from news agency Reuters, the FIFA working group have proposed that “where an agreement is due to expire at the original end date of a season, such expiry be extended until the new end date of the season”.

Yet the FIFA working group reportedly state: “In case of overlapping seasons and/or registration periods, and unless all parties agree otherwise, priority be given to the former club to complete their season with their original squad, in order to safeguard the integrity of a domestic league championship”.

This means that until season is officially ended, any player w have that their contract is due to end in June, we will have priority over any other club that comes in for our players. Unsure how that will work for loan players, though.
