    Ok, we have four entrants still to vote, but already we see two runaway leaders in the Group Stage in Round 1. There is another group which is ridiculously close across the board! The standard has been excellent :50:

    It's early days yet though, folks, and still another two rounds to reel the front runners in!

    Important UPDATE!!!!

    I mentioned in the OP that there would be a rule about songs that had already been used being prohibited.

    Please note this is now NOT the case.

    Given how nichè this genre is, for some, there aren't as many options available on YouTube as there may be on other platforms, so I have removed this rule. Also, it makes it interesting to see "who covered it better" too

    Six to reach the final.

    (group stage - three songs)
    (quarter finals - one song)
    (semi finals - two songs)

    Then final will be three songs of your choice, you can use one song already chosen so potentially only need 8 songs for the whole competition.

    Given voters sometimes tail off, MAY be able to make exceptions for the format of the songs in the final (spotify etc.) dependent on how it goes.

    RESULTS - ROUND 1

    GROUP A sees little-known, Connla, take a commanding lead with a flurry of votes ranking them 1st. Can they keep up this pace?

    GROUP B is a tighter affair with the popular, Runrig, the early front runners. Things interesting at the bottom with nothing to separate them.

    GROUP C sees a chasm between the top and bottom. Skippinish would always perform well with one of their strongest tunes. What happens next?

    GROUP D was a battle as the votes came in, some calling it "too tough to call". Credit to the entrants and artists. How this pans out, is anyone's guess.
