I bought into the buy and pay up culture of the late 90s early 20s, was making very good money and it all seemed so easy....fancy cars, 100% mortgage, buying * on a whim. Went out one day for a drive with the wife, came home and had bought a brand new convertible car....* madness.

Fast forward to about 2010 and not including mortgage it was a very high 5 figure debt list..

Debt free now thank * after a long slog and many a sleepless night, but jesus dont think I've ever been so low or felt so bad as I did during that period and now every purchase is paid cash with what I can really afford.

I have about £4k left on my car to pay off, couple cards about £650, £150 overdraft and some countil tax arrears i got when i was a teenager. My dad died and i paid the rent thinking it was all included. Left the country for a few years to study, came back and found out i owed about £900 quid. *.

I've never been a fan of the idea of credit cards. I understand they can be useful in certain circumstances but I've always been wary of them. Got one maybe 15 years ago, used it twice, paid it off, and got rid of it. Have always paid off loans I've had, never missed a payment, or missed rent or mortgage payments, so it's frustrating that the only thing hanging over me is a * debt from tax credits from years ago, which were meant to be a service that helped you out.

Oh dear oh dear well all that went * * up :56:entered a trust deed last year with just shy of 40k debt :52:

Tried to get a consolidation loan when it was around 20/25k because my debt was everywhere, multiple loans multiple credit cards was paying out a fortune each month, never missed a payment though

Got knocked back for the consolidation loan and then things didn't quite pan out at work (granted multiple holidays a year didn't help :fear:)

So it all went down hill from there

I've done most drugs in my time and cocaine is probably the most overrated of them all and the most costly.
You should try some smack...it might calm you down...you may get some so pure it would put you out of you're miserable little life .

    My debt is zero.

None! I was lucky enough to be able to take advantage of a package offered due to a merger between 2 companies! (years salary , tax free, I was a 40% tax payer) at the same time , due to being off a certain age I could access my pension lump sum, first thing I done was pay of my mortgage and car loan, I have also returned to work at a much less stressful job,
    I have been very lucky
