Could have discussed this in the supporters thread but feel it merits being highlighted.

I was a regular at CP for the MON and WGS era, don't get through so much now so it's the telly for me. Be interesting to hear from those who go often, especially tonight.

That seemed tense as * this evening, and for me, sounded like the crowd were on the players backs a lot more than usual. There were some monumental * ups of course which deserve all the moans and groans, but there were also times when there was an almighty racket of frustration, when Broony dared play a ball backwards for example. I wonder if the famous atmosphere was spooking our own players.

Are we spoilt now? Impatient? Supressed by the GB? Spitting the dummy? Or was tonight just too nervy an occasion for everyone?

Anyway, fill yer boots, just a chance to discuss it. Knee * or otherwise :50:

I thought tonight the players were nervy as * and it quickly spread to the stands. The first 5/10 minutes we barely strung a pass together, then when we started to get on top we missed chance after chance after chance.

For me we set out not to lose tonight, rather than go and win the game like we should have.

I thought the atmosphere was really negative. That said, the team gave the fans absolutely nothing to cheer for.

Don't think the Bhoys helped tonight, although they meant well. Different songbook to the GB so different chants going on in different parts of the stadium. Was a mess.

Celtic Park is no fortress any more.

Tense doesn’t do it justice to be honest. There’s such a monumental demand for us to win that when it doesn’t go as smoothly as we hope, you can feel the nerves throughout. It’s always magnified in games like this, huns games, games when league is tight and we aren’t cruising.

Our crowd is reactionary to what’s happening on the pitch. I’d say the same for majority of away games too. The place livens up when we go on the attack, win a corner, score etc and on the flip side, goes to other way when we aren’t winning, playing poorly, players * out of tackles. The demand placed on our players is up there with anywhere in world football in my opinion.

Obviously only my opinion but I think a lot of it is down to how invested and how seriously following Celtic is for the majority of people.

I thought the crowd were brilliant until the players had shat it again and we set up and played in their hands.

The fans bug me when they groan at back-passes. That intensifies the pressure on the defenders who end up lumping the ball forward. Possession is absolutely vital in these bigger matches. Will never change though sadly.

You could see the result coming a mile away, the sense of unease was reflected in the crowd.

Wasn't really until we went behind we lost the plot.

A weird thing I feel though is Refs never seem to give us 50/50 decisions in Europe, I think the well known reputation of our fans goes against us with referees, it's like they try extra hard to prove they are not swayed by the atmosphere or calls for decisions.

I think we’re the underdog against big teams like Barca, Top 4 English team etc. The crowd create an atmosphere to push the players on.

Against teams we expect to beat it goes really flat and uninspiring.

I also think it’s been somewhat commercialised and played upon, with the lights and all that - like it’s all a bit forced and staged, lacking the raw passion of prior games.

Seeing plenty of people say the same thing.

Watched it on tv and it did seem tense as * even from the get go. Normally I'd expect it 60 mins in etc but seemed to happen quite early on.

Just said in another thread, place was rocking after the penalty and then about 80 seconds later the game was gone. The players have to feed off that environment but a lot of them don't have the mentality to handle it and rise to the occasion.

Aye it was tense early on. Some getting on anyone’s back as soon as possible. It’s probably frustration as we should have been doing them over the two legs and we left ourselves in a vulnerable spot.

Thought the atmosphere after the goal was so premature. Players didn’t reset and neither did the fans. I celebrated like *, sat back down, saw what unfolded and * were having to jump down off the roof of the steps into the stands and that. Pure riddy. We still had so much to do but * were acting like the tie was over when we equalised.

An identical feel and atmosphere to the Cluj c.l game and that's when it was 0-0.. a feeling of tension and inevitability about it

It was tense as * because we know we should be beating them and so do the players, there were so many unnecessary backwards and slow play tonight, not what we’re used to seeing, the groans should encourage the players to make that forward pass.

After they scored the whole team just went into their shells. We beat their press easily in the 1st half time and time again, it’s as if 2nd half we just slowed down that just allowed them to press in on the centre backs and cause the mistakes or just lump it.

Just one of those nights unfortunately. Was annoyed how many people left at 2-1 though, aye okay at the 3rd but not at 2-1. I don’t get why so many leave early.

Why not just support from the first whistle? I don't understand why 40'000 fans only start singing and chanting after a goal, * me 8 years ago we were @ Juventus stadium getting beat 4-0 on aggregate and making more noise than their own fans even when they scored, now what we have is a bunch of football experts (sure do it after the game online if you want, but at the game you support) and glory hunting * from across the UK flocking to the stadium so they can get social media likes (Thorgdon or whatever that * name is). Unfortunately it's been that way for a long time now, favourites at home and people are just expecting a goal inside 10 minutes to lift the atmosphere. Away days are where you want to be now because at CP it's dead.

On a side note the cop should be done for manhandling the Copenhagen player that just wanted to celebrate with his own fans, how backwards of a country can we be in?
