If he terminates his contract we have to HAVE to sign him.

His remaining contract £65k a week for 18 months is equivalent to £5 million. Celtic could afford to pay his wages if they didn’t have the fee to pay but I can’t see them upset the wage structure. Even if he was happy to cut to 40 a week I’d take him for 18months to get 10IAR

Can’t see them successfully terminating his contract.

To me this seems like greedy penny pinching from spurs not unlike what we’re used to up here.

Glad it’s bit them in the * and although I want him here a part of me hopes he sits on his * and gets every penny he’s due.

If his contract is terminated can we sign him outside the window?

Yes because he’ll be a free agent then.

No he would need to have been released before our window closed in order to play for us this season, we could sign Ki for example as Newcastle released him yesterday but if Wanyama was freed today he can only play for clubs in countries whose windows are still open.

Has he ever extended a contract? :56: refused here even for more money but same length, never at southampton so he could go on the cheap and probably again at spurs

Because he was registered with another club while our window was shut.

It’s why you see a lot of players agreeing to terminate their contacts on the final day of transfer windows, so they can move as free agents and not have to wait till the next window.

Likes of Ki, Alex Bruce done it yesterday.

So there's no benefit to him terminating it now then?

If he stays at least he gets to use theit facilities.

He could go to China or wherever’s windows still open.

Reports said last night he was desperate to get it done before the end of the window because he wanted to go to Amiens though.
