Did any of them have a coaching CV that warranted any coaching job much less one of the biggest jobs in world football?

Your point, presumably, is that Setien is not up to the job and that 12 days post appointment a conclusion can be drawn much less that it serves to support your point. Amateurish logic but as I have said, consistent from you

Considering Rijkaard had managed Holland and Enrique Roma then, aye, I would suggest they had a CV which would have got them 'any coaching job'.

Your presumption, again, is wrong. My point is Setien has a managerial career spanning decades with the grand sum of * all to show for it apart from beating Barcelona in the Camp Nou and playing nice football to do it.

Think Simeone is a fantastic manager but I find it weird when creative players decide to join Atletico. They simply don’t flourish under Simeone.

Their best players the last few years, defence aside, have been the likes of Gabi, Koke, Saul, Diego Costa (first spell) etc. Workhorses, obviously with ability as well . Griezmann is the only sort of exception but even then he’s a grafter.

Guys like Gelson Martins, Lemar, Carrasco, Gaitan and now Felix just haven’t worked.

Rijkaard managed to have the only club team he was in charge of relegated before taking over Barcelona. Pep had zero senior management experience and Lucho's Roma experience was effectively ended prematurely on mutual terms due to how poorly he had done there.

    Stick to the facts

There’s clearly a language barrier here as you’re debating points I’m not even making, ironically with ‘consistency’.

    There's a barrier alright, it's not a language one

Will seem innocuous to some but a seismic event in Barcelona tonight, Messi hit out at the board & Abidal through social media - a first for him. Timing is devastating but this will have reverberations until summer

Sid Lowe has an article over at the Guardian but basically Leo came out on instagram to respond to innuendo from Abidal regarding Valverde & decisions that were taken by the board (Coupled with denying he negotiated with Xavi to take over as coach). Messi has never gone public to be critical of the board so clearly was precipitated by a confluence of factors

Elections are in 2021 but campaigning will begin in 4 months with Leo able to walk free in 5 months. Bartomeu will not run again but was trying to consolidate power by pushing his own successor. Abidal will likely be the sacrificial lamb here by being axed but no one is buying this board narrative, it all comes back to Bartomeu.

Now, will he double down on the firing of Abidal as ending the crisis or will he turn his attention to Messi to deflect on the disastrous sporting direction of the club along with his propaganda machine, Grupo Gordo (MD & RAC1)?

We'll see but there will be reverberations for awhile

Could be some Semi-final lineup in the Copa Del Rey.

    Granada 2-1 Valencia - FT
    Mirandes 4-2 Villarreal - FT

Real Madrid 0-3 Real Sociedad - 55 mins.

    Bilbao vs Barcelona to play..

Bilbao just knocked Barcelona out as well.

Bilbao, Sociedad, Granada and Mirandes in the semi finals.

Barcelona are an absolute shadow of the team they once were. Atrocious transfer dealings, stale managerial status quos, boardroom meddling and Champions League humblings have gutted them.

Pique stumbling on his knees being dragged along as he held on to the Atletico player's jersey is a powerful image of where they are now. That last minute where Semedo and Umtiti passed the ball between each other about 6 times instead of getting it up the pitch, only to be followed by Semedo's freekick soaring into their keeper's arms.

    Utter shambles.

They’ve been a mess for years now. Was listening to a podcast earlier and they were talking about how awful their recruitment has been for half a decade really.
