Worried that Klimala and Soro look like being players who still have quite a bit of developing to do, where as i feel we need to be bringing in a bit of proven quality or something nearer the finished article.
I feel like we need to bring in players who are going to have an immediate impact and make the difference for us

Who is to say they won't make an impact?

When have we bought experience and it worked out?

Our model is to bring in projects and it's worked out so far...

Sinclair, Forster, Julien all had experience and have worked out. Go back to martin o'Neill's days, he wanted success for the here and now when he was here. He promoted youth through youth system, he very rarely bought young projects. We do need a bit of experience in the starting 11, not the squad. We also need a bit of height added. Set pieces give me the fear!

Like his attitude tbh, still wanting to play with all the speculation and possible transfer on the cards.

    Type you want.

I agree but those sort of players are likely to be loan types and if you look back historically they're generally done towards the end of transfer windows, maybe as the parent clubs would rather find a buyer but as time goes on they'd rather the burden of wages was shared, if they're not getting a look in.

Levy at Spurs would rather a club stumped up a transfer fee for Wanyama (like the £13 million that was agreed with Club Bruges, before he rejected their offer) than send him to us on loan when we're only paying a fraction of his wages.

It's all supposition but with that in mind, if we ask the question on January the 1st then they might ask for a £2 million loan fee and us to cover £50k a week in his wages but if he's still there on January 30th and no bids have been incoming then that could come down to say £500k loan fee and £30k a week in wages, as they'd rather have something coming in.

The problem is we can't hold out til then in the hope that a deal becomes possible, we need players in. I agree though that we need a few experienced types to come in for this run-in, we need calm heads that have been there and done it.

Deal on hold as it stands!!!!

We have already agreed terms with the player and his club apparently

But they are stalling because of a dispute between Bnei Yehuda and Soro's agents.

His representatives are believed to own a percentage of the player and are negotiating the amount they will get from the transfer fee.

A statement from Bnei Yehuda said: "It's impossible to know at the moment whether Ismaila Soro will be in the squad for our next game against Hapoel Kfar Saba on Monday or not."

Haha, tbh I know * all about him and he's young and for me a prospect, so not sure how much we'll see of him anyway.

But * me, old PL must get onto agents and stuff and say right there's still 'insert weeks of window remaining, we need to * about after someone to halt everything up'.

And even if he does sign up I'm guessing Lenny will give the usual 'he has a few things to tie up back home' and that'll delay seeing him in the hoops.

Hartley and Robson are the 2 that immediately spring to mind, in not dissimilar circumstances. League was tight, Broony and Donati had patchy form and they came into the team and were the bedrock for us turning round a double-digit deficit to win the 2008/09 league.

Toure arguably got us through the 2016/17 Champions League qualifiers with his calmness in the 2nd leg play-off to Beer Sheva.

I know this is Celtic Chat and not relevant but I believe the change in the huns consistency from last season to this, is in part down to the likes of McGregor & Davis coming in. The rest of the team is more or less at the same level but they're now finding ways to win games were they'd previously have dropped points.

They were at the EBT-enhanced former club and understand the importance of winning every game and the nuances of the league. Young players that we bring in from different leagues might not necessarily grasp that right away and that's disadvantageous, particularly if it goes down to the wire. They're coming from clubs where if you win 2 games, draw 1 and lose 1 then you're doing okay; for us that's a disaster.

That's like saying Henke cost us the UEFA final because he only scored 2 goals, Bellamy was sensational for us, and I really mean sensational.

    Great minds lol.

honestly though how can we never just sign a player without drama or drawing it out for days!

I imagine it will get done but it’s just annoying
