Celtic are monitoring Stoke City striker Tyrese Campbell.

Record Sport understands the Scottish champions are amongst a host of clubs watching the situation of the England Under-20 star as he moves into the last six months of his deal in the Potteries.

Campbell has yet to commit to staying at the Bet365 Stadium and interest is growing in him across the UK.

Celtic Head of football operations Nick Hammond is assessing a variety of options in the attacking department for the upcoming transfer windows and is aware of the 19-year-old’s potential availability

It is understood that Campbell would cost around only the £350,000 mark in a cross-border compensation deal having moved to Stoke from the Manchester City Academy three years ago in a transfer worth £1.75 million.

The teenager was moved into the first-team set-up by ex-Stoke boss Paul Lambert , but has failed to make a permanent breakthrough at Stoke and was loaned to Shrewsbury for the second-half of last term.

Campbell scored five goals to help keep the club safe in League One before going back to City.

The youngster scored twice on debut for England’s Under-20s in a game against Portugal last month and, although new boss Michael O’Neill appears keen to keep him, the kid is being hunted by suitors.

Doesn't sound like an NFL player at all

"and its number 48, Tyrese Campbell, with the sack, that's for a loss and its 3rd down here in the superdome"

Reports today us and the Huns are in for him.

His record this season isnt exactly amazing. Anyone seen him play?

Can see him signing for them. Young English player > Gerrard as manager etc.

    Aye.

One of the big pluses of the Snake was the profile he had. A year ago you’d be laughed at on here for suggesting the Huns would even try compete with us to sign a player never mind actually beat us to one.

    Don't even buy all that..

We got Frimpong whilst they ended up with Barker..

How many real big signings have they made from England? Kent who no one in England was willing to pay for and they paid silly money for him..

Aribo who admitted his self that we didn't even speak to him..

We've been snapping up O'Connor who United fan's wanted to keep. Afolabi from Southampton who offered him a new deal and had interest from England and abroad..

Their bigger name's from England are Defoe and Davis on loan who were North or 34 and looking for 1 last pay day after loans. From Bournemouth and Southampton..

We've got Elyounoussi at 25 in his prime and a keeper also only 32 with plenty year's still on the clock..

If slippy really had much clout over the English market then he'd really have had a field day down there. Even the loans like Ojo, Ejaria, Kent etc are completely surplus there and older than their promising kid's who they want to keep long term..

agree with this, if we and them are in for a player and he is young and English then we have no chance cause of Slippy.

Yet its apparently his backroom staff that are the real brains behind the operation. Especially the guy that got sent off. Gerrard is just a front

The fact that most young English players see him as their hero, the impact he had for them coming into football, and what he has achieved as a player.

We both know he has pulling power in that respect.

I just don't buy that. Footballers want the same as everyone else; money, prestige and comfortable lives.
Whichever club offers that in more abundance wins. Its straight forward.
The only exception would be for loyalty of some sort. Like their boyhood club or something. The rest is a lot of * that we, impassioned observers, put on them to make a cool story.

The pulling power of wages will be stronger than the pulling power of Gerrard.
