I still watch it at least twice a year, in fact I got Band of Brothers and the Pacific again this year as a Christmas present but this time on blu-ray.

    Fantastic show.

Band of Brothers is excellent and the Pacific is pretty good as well. :50:

If anyone is looking for something substantial and similiar there is a 5 part mini-series from the 1980a called ANZACS about a platoon of Australian soldiers in WWI, following them from being recruited through Gallipoli and the Western Front right through to the end of the war, as well as the home front etc. Has a pretty good cast headed by Paul Hogan, Andrew Clarke and Jon Blake (what might have been - he was severely brain damaged in a car accident shortly after this). Has a different feel from Band of Brothers, but still very much worth checking out for those that are fans of BoB.

I know its a movie but "Land Of Mine",is well worth a look here.

In post-World War II Denmark, the Danish government puts their hated German prisoners of war to work clearing the 1.5 million landmines from the western beaches of the country. At one such beach, Sgt. Carl Leopold Rasmussen finds himself in charge of one such labor unit and finds they are largely all inexperienced boys. As the boys struggle to complete and survive their dangerous work, Sgt. Rasmussen's hate for Germans gradually cools as he grows to understand the horrific situation these child soldiers are in even as the mines claim more and more victims. Eventually, the boys and the Sergeant must decide what can be done in a situation that would be later be denounced by later generations as the worst war crime committed by the Danish government in its history.

    Stunning movie about the war.

I've always meant to watch The Pacific, never got around to it. Think I'll watch it after I finish BoB.

It’s not got as much action in it, and I thought about 4 or 5 episodes were quite boring tbh, the ones with action were very good though

Its not really a sequel is it though? I think the media are clutching there.

The worst part by a country mile is that its an Apple exclusive. * Apple.

Just went to visit John Martins grave here in Phoenix, an absolute hero and one of my favourites from the series (excellently played by Dexter Fletcher too I must add).

The story of him and Guarnere getting their tattoos in Edinburgh is brilliant but also has some tragedy involved

Just reading about the new one there, and I’m excited by it, I hope it will have plane scenes like they had in Dunkirk, I feel like that was the first time I had seen proper air to air combat in a movie.

Also here is my picture from the cemetery, there is also the flagpole that was on the USS Arizona when it got attacked at Pearl Harbour. It was gifted, I suppose you would say, to the cemetery. Just some cool things out here that may be of interest to some fellow ww2 enthusiasts :50:
