Getting nowhere near the criticism he deserves tbh. Done so much wrong today including both goals. Dropped far too deep behind Jullien on several occasions. Every single one of our team was staring at him for their second goal.

 

Perhaps the problem with Ajer is that he’s only 21 and we are relying on him week in, week out.

Jullien is 26/27 and much more experienced. We should be able to rely on someone like that.

We need another CB regardless

How many times this season has he been at fault for goals like their second yesterday? He is just not good in the air, has no spring. Also, never gets on the end of corners in oppositions box. He is decent enough player and maybe should be considered as Browns replacement.

 

Worst defender currently by a long way imo. Always sliding slowly in, missing or fouling. Not commanding in the slightest, beat to headers by guys 3ft smaller. Weak as *. Dont know what happened but I'd go all out to get benco back in his position with big julian.

 

Yes, Benko would be an upgrade, could then have option to go 3 at the back or release Ajer to play in Browns role, to rest Brown.

 

Don't know why * want him in Brown's role, he's far too slow to be in there. Keep him at CB.

 

He's the future of defence, but right now, he's on a severe downwards spiral of form.

 

At a point where I think he’s needs some protection from the manager and dropped for a few games. Granted Jozo and El-Hamed are out but I’d be happy with Bitton in there with Jullien for a spell.

 

He’s struggling big time at CB at present, it doesn’t help there’s no other * to replace him.

 

I think he'd do well in browns role bcoz he likes to burst forward , also any time he's played right back he's played well, he's just not good enough or physical enough for his size at center half.

 

Be worth a shot trying him there. Feel we're too stubborn in our starting 11 and formation. Where would be the harm in sticking him there for half an hour to see how he get's on ?

Playing the same 11 till the 80th minute of games we're comfortable in makes no sense to the guys playing 50/60 games a season.

I can't believe the stick Ajer is getting. He's a quality young player! We should have more height and physical presence in the side for sure though to help him and Jullien.

Needs a break plain and simple. Unfortunately as with the striker position , we have noone to pick up the slack in the squad except Bitton who isn't a natural CB anyway

so much to work on his game before he gets much older , I was fekkin terrified Clancy was going to even up the penalty score , considering how many times Ajer has a handful of shirt at corners and free kicks .
