Ignoring all the bluster Morgan is somewhere in between. Is he good enough to play every week no. Is he as bad as some make out no. He is a decent squad player who will do a decent job is used correctly.

Last night was the perfect game for him. Less pressure but still a strong desire from the team to get a good result.

I think earlier in the season Lennon hung him out to dry a bit and that’s why he came in for a lot of criticism. Like in the qualifiers, he obviously wasn’t ready for the occasion and the pressure and playing him didn’t do any favours.

Hopefully he kicks on now though.

the fact lennon has shown faith in the boy and his goal will give him huge confidence, im hoping he reacts similar to jonny hayes who looks a different player playing with confidence.

He's kind of like a jack of all trades master of none across that front 4.

Tbh I like the lad, think he has something about him but I highly doubt he will go on to do a Christie.

At the worst he's a decent squad option as shown last night

I've never understood the hate from some on here, he's not a world beater by any means but you always need half decent squad players to fill the gaps, that's what he is. Same goes for Hayes, people moaning about him from the start and he's pretty much not put a foot wrong when he's called upon.

NEIL LENNON has told St Mirren and Hibs they can now FORGET all hope of trying to sign Celtic’s latest Euro hero Lewis Morgan in January.

Both clubs are keen to take the attacker on loan for the second half of the season.

Jim Goodwin confirmed earlier this week he was keen on bringing Morgan back to the Paisley outfit while Hibees gaffer Jack Ross was a hugely-influential figure during the 23-year-old’s time at Saints and Sunderland

But Morgan’s goal-scoring display in Thursday night’s 3-1 Europa League win over Rennes — when he stepped in for injured Odsonne Edouard — has effectively killed the duo’s chances.

Asked about the prospect of him moving in the next transfer window, Lennon said: “We’re not in the mood to do that. He is an important part of the squad.

“You can see what he brings at times, he just needs to believe in himself a little bit more and that performance against Rennes will do him the world of good.

His goal was fantastic – a striker’s goal really. It was like an Edouard goal — we felt he could bring pace and he is a very fit boy.

“Lewis has proved he’s got the game and can bring something to the squad and the team when called upon. And I hope he gets a lift.

We have looked at him in that position in training a few times in case anything did go wrong with Odsonne.”

Lennon is likely to keep the 14-goal Edouard sidelined for Celtic’s game against Ross County.

I don’t exactly agree with Lenny on this but it’s clear he wants to try and make something of Morgan here. He played well last night so we’ll see if he can kick on now.

Big chance for him to show what he’s got.

Positive Lenny is telling clubs Lewis won’t be leaving.

Don't see the point in another loan. He's at the age now when we have to find out if he's good enough for Celtic and we can only do that by giving him a few chances over the season and possibly into next season.

I think that was very smart from Lenny. It must do the world of good for Morgan's confidence when the gaffer comes out and categorically says you won't go out on loan and deserve a place in the squad.

Intelligent boy and has good movement, makes some good runs off the shoulder and drops when needed.

He could have a future through the middle in a McGinn style when he first went to Aberdeen. Doesn't make it here, but can have a good career.

Put in a decent shift today, won penalty and good run for/cut back for Tams goal. Just not a No 9.

Puts in a helluva lot of effort, and it's unfortunate for him that there are others ahead of him in his more natural position.
