I'm torn. On one hand, when used correctly, it undoubtedly removes game changing mistakes. On the other, football is a sport, not a science. Players and supports are on edge and afraid to celebrate goals in fear of it being chopped off. It removes the human element of watching football.

I don't know that I'd trust it to be used correctly up here.

Genuinely believe the English are purposefully * their version of Var up on purpose.

In champ league games and other leagues outside England, there isn't this amount of * ups.

Thankfully when we get it in r32, it won't be the English dealing with it.

I also don't think it helps that they changed the handball rule this season and it seems absolutely no one knows what the rule is any more.

So the English your referring to, which is the largest football business in the world, have all got together (including all the owners of the clubs who are not English) and made a pact with the refs and FA to * it up. Sounds plausible aye

VAR being scrapped as the English game is the biggest market and all eyes are watching.

EDIT: I have no other explanation for them, they are 'Royally' * it up!

    In essence, this.

I've always had the impression that they aren't for it at all. But they are so self centered and up their own *, they wouldn't be able to have VAR thrusted on to them. So, pick it up (where it wont cost the english too much, comparatively), they can then * it up to * and given time shout that it aint good enough and have the whole thing scrapped.

It's a conspiracy thinking I grant you, but I've never had the feeling that the English want it. They come across as being against it a lot and add their general arrogance, it seems reasonable to me that they would want to make VAR a laughing stock so that it doesn't take off properly.

I dunno, I’m sure there is a written code of standards that all that partake in it have to abide by them. Would open up a world of claims and disputes if there was any hint of corruption

If Uefa see it working in the CL, Bundesliga, Serie A and La Liga then I doubt they’ll just scrap it altogether because the English refs can’t watch a video replay and come to the right conclusion.

True this, it is quite embarrassing that they cant look at a screen over and over again and not see what we can clearly see. After 1/2 replays

I watch brazilian, italian and portuguese football. In all those places people are making exactly the same comments: that VAR is * here but works in other countries. The grass is always greener on the other side, but VAR seems to only not be crap if you dont pay attention or care enough

Pls try not to tarnish people, who believe that "VAR" could make a difference,
as, being people who believes there is no cheating going on in the first place.

I believe VAR 'could' make a difference, small maybe, but a difference all the same.
I also vehemently believe the bias and cheating has been going on for decades.

I understand peoples fear that it could go against us, but like others have said...
I'd rather get * by var than the way it is the now.

it could be a great thing but it is opening up the decision making process to 3rd parties that may want a particular team to win

havent watched much english football but in the world cup last year and the womans one this year i felt that once the ref had been summoned to the side to view the video the ref was always going to go with the var officials

it would take a helluva strong ref to stop a game get called to the side to review a decision then refuse to implement that var decision, infact i dont think ive seen that happen once

if they want to do it right they should bring it in slowly reviewing clear cut mistakes to do with penalties or other clear mistakes like others have said if its not clear (1 or 2 replays) then there is no decision to make

var has to be simple not a cure all
