Neil Lennon sacrifices a lot to work for us. His personal life is affected deeply and he has been the victim of violence, racism and a media sponsored onslaught of outright hate.

I hope it is Neil that completes the task of creating more unique history.

He may not be the “sexy” name a large swathe of our support craved. Some of the comments online when he was announced full time boss after completing an historic Treble Treble were an outrage.

No one is perfect, there will be defeats, there will be ups and downs, but he has helped us gain respect again in Europe after some truly embarrassing thrashings we got under the previous manager.

He may also have personal flaws but I admire the mans strength and fortitude in representing Celtic.

We should be grateful as this is a wonderful era and it is sweet revenge for all of the cheating we endured. Dead Cheats FC and now Sevco will never be brought to task by the establishment society in this bitter bigoted country. The majority hate him and hate us. My father has long since tripped off this mortal coil, last night I would have been with him, and in spirit I was. He would have been proud that one of his sons and grandsons were in the stadium to witness that performance, courage and a group of players who care as much as we do.

Nights like last night are to be cherished and so is our manager.

Not going to compare the Lazio and Barca games as they were different games different teams.

I'm just surprised how fast Lenny has done it but there is something that demonstrates why he was obviously a good choice to manage us at the high pressure stage of a historic era.

The Barca game wasn't just great because they were great, it was because two weeks earlier we had to suffer the soul destroying injury time goal that prevented us getting a result in the Camp Nou. I honestly thought that was it, we'd had a chance and no way were we going to put up another heroic performance against the 2nd best team in history two weeks after cause the players must've been absolutely demoralised considering how bad we fans felt.

So for Lenny not only to get the team back believing, without Broony and Hooper, that was quite incredible.

Two things in those games demonstrated this and his tactical nous (and jawdropping audacity) was taking off a defender and putting on a striker with 20 minutes to go when we thought we were defending a lead he had other ideas. Ntcham wasn't quite the same masterstroke as a couple folk in the match thread suggested him before halftime but two things definitely seemed the same, Xavi miss hit that kick out from Forster due to mental and physical fatigue after throwing everything at us and the Lazio defender did the exact same thing for the exact same reason.

Plus we came from behind twice against Lazio which is another sign of team spirit and belief.

So like you said, Lenny's talent is obviously creating synergy and belief and being humble and realistic enough to know when we need to change tactics because there's nothing wrong with getting beat by a better team, being narcissistic enough to say your way is the only way to play and accepting our fate before the kick is what's unforgivable.

    Liked it for you :50:

So I’ve got to say firstly always loved Lennon but I thought we were taking a side step bringing him back. Some of the the football this season has been pure class and for me far better to watch than previous seasons, we are in a great place the now and feels like Martin O’Neill days.

Made the mistake of going onto twitter to see what was being said there. Still some willing to doubt Lennon. I don't know what he has to do to win some people over, I think they must just not like admitting when they're wrong. The thing is if they are Celtic fans they're spoiling some great occasions for themselves. Much better standard of discussion on this site.

Just needs to stay grounded, I'm sure he will, he's more experienced now.

Great start to his 2nd spell, nothing is won yet tho, but this side really excites me.

We're not guaranteed anything and the huns have improved but all I can say is last season I was going to some games through a mixture of loyalty and habit but there were times I couldn't really be bothered but this season I can't wait for every game.

Just looking at the fixtures there (and greeting because of a fortnight of no Celtic) and since the Livi defeat we’ve won 8 from 8, scored 14 in the league without reply, qualified for the League Cup Final and beat Lazio home and away to qualify for the last 32 of the Europa with 2 games to spare.

That is some feat from Lenny btw.
