    Our third best centre back.

Lennon gets some performance out of him.

    Needs a new deal ASAP.

Agree that we should keep a hold of him but we need to see if he can stay fit first.

Could be a shout for Broonie, maybe not to start but at some point.

I don't like Bitton at CM, especially against lesser teams at home who will sit with 2 banks of 5. The only way to break that down is by moving the ball forward and quickly, the 2 things that Bitton struggles to do.

He was in there versus Dunfermline and it was arguably our poorest performance of the season outwith Livingston.

Depends who's fit mate but Broonie definitely needs resting from time to time as does McGregor who looked very heavy-legged v The Sheep.

This is only a 'problem' when Bittons beside Brown. Neither have the ability to carry it forward consistently yes But Bitton is well capable of getting it forward quickly with a pass.
If hes beside Ntcham, Christie or Cal Mac that wont be a problem as they're capable of carrying it forward.
Getting the ball forward was no problem vs Dunfermlime we had over 35 shots.

It's not though, Broony didn't play in the game v Dunfermline and the play was turgid, slow and easy to sit in against.

Bitton is a good player and has his uses but he takes 4 touches when 1 or 2 would do.

I would be happy enough for the club to extend his contract if need be (there are a dozen players who should be let go before him), but I think that we would be better off bringing in an out-and-out centre-half, and a proper holding midfielder.

What im saying is a brown/bitton is the only time youre arguement stands up about the ball not getting forwad quick enough.
We had 36 shots against Dunfermline , Bitton was not the problem. We got the ball forward.

Quickly and with urgency is the part you’re leaving out there.

Strangely enough, his passing is quick and decisive from CB

A statistic like that doesn't tell the whole story and certainly doesn't disprove my point. Many of those shots were from distance (including our opening goal) because our build up play through midfield was too slow and laboured.

Also a fair amount of those shots came in ET by virtue of our superior fitness, by then the Dunfermline players were running on empty.

    Horses for courses.
Could see Broony and Bitton together when we are trying to close/manage a game out and also an away European tie when we just need to keep it tight. Would never be dynamic but hopefully no more 7-0 embarrassments.
