Totally agree and these kinds of performances are why we need honest solid players like Hayes in our squad. With the sheer volume of games we play in a season we need players like Hayes to contribute when called upon and he certainly has done just that so far this season.

Hayes has to be in every squad, solid utility player who gives it his all and his pace is frightening

Yes, a good squad player and important, given the number of games we play and number of injuries' we seem to pick up.

Johnny "new lease of life" Hayes.

...and to think we could've let him go.
No chance.!! Johnny's here for the 10 at least.
He always puts in a shift when asked and would shed blood for the cause.

Must be the stuff of dreams-Dublin playing for Celtic-and scoring against that lot, at the Zoo.

His pace alone is worth keeping him for. I cant actually remember a player we've had that is quicker than him. Maybe Didier Agathe but it would be a tight one. I think Johnny is the quickest and when you bring a player on that is that quick and the opposition defence is tired then its another effective weapon we've got in the arsenal.

Hayes is obviously a popular figure in the dressing room and with the fans, he gives everything..

But in reality he's our 3rd choice LB and 4th choice LW, shouldn't be near the bench when Taylor is up to speed.

Reminds me of Bitton in some ways, knows he isn't one of the 'stars' of the team but can come in and fill a few different positions and does so without any moaning or whinging. Great types of guys to have in the squad, good, honest, dependable pro's who will give thier all when called upon.

Has made little impact on too many occasions in a Celtic top, willing him to do better but just isn’t good enough.

I like him but he should not be the go to guy when chasing a game

I don't think he's let us down too often tbh. If he was a bigger name I reckon he wouldn't receive the rating he does.

Came on at 2 nil down when the game was dying out and we had 10 men on a joke of a pitch where no one looked good..

It's ridiculous. Too many on here decide it is the wrong sub regardless of what happens when he comes on.

Spot on with this. Handy player to have for certain types of game but when you are behind in the game he is not the one to bring on.

If you are in the lead and are wanting to rest a player or just close the game out he is an option. Not otherwise.

Why not ? He is far more direct than what we usually start with. He changes things up so is probably exactly what we should putting on.

It's mental that * on here will just never give him a break.

He’s our utility man and his attitude is exemplary.

Isn’t his fault but swapping him in for Boli at left back whilst chasing goals and Boli doing fine was a complete waste of a substitute.

Particularly when there were so many goals and assists kicking its heels on the bench in Sinclair.
