Scott Brown said Callum should be captain.

I like the way Ajer stamps his authority and is always first in if a colleague is fouled...you wouldn't mess with the guy, certainly on a football pitch he turns into a colossus...look at the * size of the guy !!!

Ajer for me. Callum or Forrest you are looking at captains leading by example. Ajer can do that as well but is much more vocal on the pitch and will also give team mates a rocket when needed. We've been missing that from a captain.

Ajer isn't going to jump over Calum or James nor should he.

He doesn't have to be captain or vice captain to lead our defence. Which is what we need from him just now.

Ajar can still be a leader without the armband.

    100% agree.

We need leaders all over the park, and not just the ones that wear armbands...

If he's a leader give him the armband I'd say.

    Should be Callum next.

Even Scott Brown has said Callum should get the armband.

I don't care about should be, I care about what's best for the team, and in my opinion that would be Ajer as captain ahead of Callum.

No chance, giving the armband to a young player that’s still developing and having have responsibilities off the pitch is something that’s terrible for development. Have him focus fully to improving on the pitch, he’s a natural leader, he’ll still lead on the pitch.

A more seasoned campaigner and finished article in Callum is perfect.

Wasn't he the captain of his Norwegian team when he was 16? That really held him back.

Yes because captaining a wee Norwegian mob has the same responsibilities, media duties and off pitch duties as captaining a massive club like Celtic...

Nah... rotate media duties which is what Celts do anyway, but we need a giant on the field commanding and leading, a man of steel..... and with the greatest respect Calum and Jamesie arent that type

And he now has 5 years more experience since captaining that wee Norwegian mob. You honestly don't think he could handle it? I haven't seen anything from Callum that makes me think he is good captain material. Leading by example is great but if it is all you have, and you are off your game, where does it leave you? Who do you feel is more likely to give an inspirational team talk in the huddle, Callum or Ajer?

He cant ping a pass quite like big Virgil, or even Benkovic. But otherwise I agree, very little weakness

But again, he’s not exactly terrible at it.

He can get better at things of course but he isn’t really weak at anything he needs. Finishing is the only thing i can think of :56:

This will likely be his last full season here IMO so I doubt he will be captain anytime soon.

Would take a lot to hold onto him.
