Seen a few of there so called “Casuals” last night when I was heading home from a meal last night. Looked to be in there 20s swigging from cans that appeared to be lager, top of west Nile street at the crossroad with sauchiehall street. Bunch of idiots hopefully they get a hiding if the story’s of them out looking for trouble are correct.

Those "fans" are special ones, all of them, no matter which club they stand behind.
But they are also the ones following our team everywhere, no matter where they play (doesnt give them the right to behave as they do but i hope you get my point).

My bet for tonight is simple, i dont know if we will loose/win or draw but i think i am certain of one thing. No matter what happens today, our goalie will be tonights game's main character in one way or another. Either he steps up and becomes the goalie everyone has been waiting for for the past 3 years, or he makes a mistake that costs us European-soccer (again... last time against Braga was Linners "fault" 100%). He has high highs and low lows.

 

I understand that, but it's bound to have some effect on the players also.

Just feel the team need all the support they can get at the min especially the new guys and any protests should be held outside board meetings and or PL's Hoose.

 

Away on holiday next week so hopefully come back to find out we are in Europa GS and top of league after hammering huns and mini huns.

You don't think certain players knowing the fans regard them as part of a downsizing process is going to have an effect on dressing room morale?

 

Haha a typical feeling for AIK-fans.
Random team in the league, their top scorer havent scored in 10 games. Plays against AIK, BOOM hattrick.
Random team in the league, their goalie has not had a clean sheet in 15 games. Plays AIK, BOOM clean sheet.
Random team... etc etc.. boom etc etc.


The only explanation i have to this is: weaker teams/players usually grows an extra pair when playing the biggest team in the league/the team everyone hates and wants to beat more than anything.

 

Oh for crying out loud, don’t let these guys from Stockholm fool you. AIK is NOT the biggest team in Sweden. Not by any metric.

They don’t have the titles, the money, the history or former legends to back that statement up. Worst of all their dirty little secret. They don’t have the biggest following in Sweden, they don’t even have the biggest following in Stockholm, Hammarby has that. The most popular team in Sweden is IFK Gothenburg according every opinion poll and the most successful and wealthiest team is Malmö FF.

But hey man AIK have 25000 following them on Facebook and the Swedish king supports them.

One thing iv never got is why people go to away games in europe looking for trouble? I mean they must have decent jobs etc to afford all the tickets and travelling, probably teachers etc. Yet they hop on a plane looking to fight folk instead of enjoying the game? Aye give a bit of shouting in the stands, but actually trying to hurt other people and end up arrested etc. Daft.

I always assumed Gotenburg and Malmo were the biggest/most successful sides in Sweden throughout the 80's, 90's and 00's. Never really heard much of AIK.
